All things, then, whatever ye would that men should do to you, do ye also so to them; for this is the Law and the Prophets.
The second is this: "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." There is no other commandment greater than these.
And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also in like manner to them.
Let your love be unfeigned. Abhor that which is evil, cleave to that which is good. In brotherly love, be affectionate to one another; in honor, give each other the preference.
So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.
Finally, be, all of one mind, have fellow feeling, love as brethren, be compassionate, be humble;
But take heed that ye do not your righteousness before men, to be seen by them; otherwise ye have no reward with your Father who is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Truly do I say to you, They have received their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth;read more.
that thine alms may be in secret; and thy Father, who seeth in secret, will reward thee.
But I say to you, that whoever is angry with his brother shall be in danger of the Judges; and whoever shall say to his brother, Simpleton! shall be in danger of the Council; and whoever shall say, Fool! shall be in danger of hellfire.
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are right, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
then lust, having conceived, bringeth forth sin, and sin, when completed, bringeth forth death.
and saying, Men, why do ye these things? We also are men of like nature with you, bringing to you glad tidings, that ye may turn from these vanities to the living God, who made heaven and earth and sea, and all things that are therein;
And he saith to me, See thou do it not; I am a fellowservant of thee, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book; worship God.
But I say to you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God;
After this manner therefore pray ye:Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;
And he said to them, When ye pray, say, Father, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come;
But above all things, my brethren, swear not; neither by heaven, nor by the earth, nor by any other oath; but let your yea be yea, and your nay, nay; that ye fall not under condemnation.
But Peter and the apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
Not every one that saith to me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven.
So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God joined together, let not man put asunder.
But to those who are married it is my command, yet not mine, but the Lords: Let not the wife separate herself from her husband, and if she have separated herself let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband; and let not the husband put away his wife.
Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
In like manner, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands, that even if any obey not the word, they may without the word be won by the behavior of the wives,
Children, obey your parents in the Lord; for this is right. "Honor thy father and mother;" which is the first commandment with a promise; "that it may be well with thee, and thou mayst live long on the earth."read more.
And, ye fathers, stir not up the anger of your children, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
Children, obey your parents in all things; for this is wellpleasing in the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children, lest they be discouraged.
presiding well over his own house, having his children in subjection with all propriety;
But if any widow have children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety to their own family, and to requite their parents; for this is acceptable before God.
But if any one provideth not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.
Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as menpleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing the Lord.
Masters, deal out to your bondservants justice and equity, knowing that ye also have a master in heaven.
Bondservants, obey your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as serving Christ;
Let all who are under the yoke as bondservants count their own masters worthy of all honor, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.
Exhort bondservants to be in subjection to their own masters, in all things to be wellpleasing to them,
Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and considerate, but also to the perverse.
