For the LORD takes pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.
See you how Ahab humbles himself before me? because he humbles himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days: but in his son's days will I bring the evil upon his house.
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
Therefore put away all filthiness and extreme wickedness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

A man's pride shall bring him low: but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.

Behold, the day of the LORD comes, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy its sinners out of it.
