Consider what I say, and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

Then He opened their mind, to understand the scriptures: and said unto them, thus it is written, and thus it was necessary that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead on the third day; and that in his name should be preached repentance and remission of sins to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

And beginning from Moses, and all the prophets, He explained to them in all the scriptures the things that were spoken concerning Himself.

Then they understood, that He did not bid them beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the pharisees and of the sadducees.

But as it is written, "Eye hath not seen, and ear hath not heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, what things God hath prepared for those that love Him." But God hath revealed them to us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knoweth the things of a man, but the spirit of a man which is in him? so also the things of God no one knoweth, but the Spirit of God.read more.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit of God; that we might know the things that are graciously bestowed upon us by God: which we also speak of, not in words dictated by human wisdom, but in those which are dictated by the holy Spirit; explaining spiritual things by spiritual words.

when ye read it, ye may perceive my knowledge in the mystery of Christ,) which in other generations was not made known to men, as it is now revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; that the Gentiles should be co-heirs,

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputant of the age? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For, since in the wisdom of God the world by it's wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by what they called the folly of preaching to save those that believe.

Then Peter opened his mouth and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: but in every nation he that feareth Him, and worketh righteousness, is acceptable to Him.

Upon which, some of the scribes said in themselves, This man blasphemeth: but Jesus knowing their surmises, said to them, Why think ye evil in your hearts?

But there were some of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God? And Jesus, who knew immediately in his spirit that they were thus reasoning within themselves, said unto them, Why do ye dispute these things in your hearts?

And the scribes and pharisees began to cavil, saying, Who is this that talketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God? but Jesus knowing their thoughts, answered and said unto them, What are ye disputing in your hearts?

The woman saith unto Him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

And if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask it of God, who giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him.

But Jesus answered them, Ye are mistaken, not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God:

And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, nor the power of God?

Do ye not yet understand, nor remember the five loaves divided among five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? nor the seven loaves among four thousand, and how many baskets-full ye took away? How is it then that ye do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread, when I bid you to beware of the leaven of the pharisees and of the sadducees?

And Jesus knowing it saith unto them, What are ye reasoning about? because ye have no bread? Do ye not yet discern nor understand? have ye your heart still hardened? Have ye eyes, and do not see? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember? When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did ye take up? They answer, Twelve.read more.
And when I divided the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? and they said, Seven. And He said unto them, How is it then that ye do not understand?

Then Peter took Him and began to expostulate with Him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: may this never be unto thee.

And this He spake plainly and openly. Upon which Peter began to rebuke Him.

And He said unto them, O people void of understanding and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a teacher of Israel and knowest not these things?

She therefore runneth and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid Him.
