What think ye? if any man had an hundred sheep, and one of them should go astray, would he not leave the ninety and nine, and go upon the hills, and seek that which is gone astray? And if he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more on account of that, than of the ninety nine which went not astray. Even so it is not the will of your heavenly Father, that any one of these little ones should be lost.

Rejoicing in hope, patient under affliction, persevering in prayer,

but in righteousness and peace, and joy in the holy Ghost: for he, that in these serveth Christ, is acceptable to God, and approved by men.

Be always joyful. Pray continually. In every circumstance be thankful; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

As the Father hath loved me, and I have loved you, continue in my love: and if ye keep my commandments ye will continue in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and continue in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy in you may continue, and that your joy may be full.

Blessed are ye when men shall revile and persecute you, and utter all manner of reproach against you falsly, for my sake: rejoice and be exceeding glad; for great will be your reward in heaven: for so they persecuted the prophets, that were before you.

that I may be delivered from the unbelievers in Judea; and that this my service at Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints: that I may come to you with joy, by the will of God, and may be refreshed with you.

And I wrote this to you, that when I come I may not have grief from those of whom I ought to receive joy, being persuaded concerning all of you, that my joy is the joy of you all.

But if I be even poured forth as a libation on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and congratulate with you all. And for the same cause do ye also rejoice, and congratulate with me.

Let us rejoice and exult and give glory to Him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

For we rejoice when we exert not our power, and when ye are strong: as this is what we wish, even your perfection.

In which ye rejoice, tho' now for a little while, if need be, ye are grieved through various trials.

For your obedience is come to the knowledge of all: and therefore I rejoice on your account; but yet I would have you wise to that which is good, and simple as to that which is evil.

If therefore there be any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any participation of the Spirit, if any bowels of compassion, compleat ye my joy, be like-minded, maintaining the same love, with your souls united, in attending to the one thing needful.

(always making supplication for you all with joy in every prayer of mine) for your attachment to the gospel, from the first day even till now; being confident of this, that He who hath begun a good work in you will continue to perfect it till the day of Jesus Christ.
