And he called and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am in pain in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that you received your good things in your life, and Lazarus in like manner evil things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in pain. And besides all this, there is a great chasm fixed between us and you, so that those wishing to pass from hence to you cannot, neither can they pass from thence to us. And he said, I beseech you then, father, send him to my father's house, for I have five brothers, to testify fully to them, that they may not also come to this place of torment But Abraham said, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. But he said, No, father Abraham, but if one went to them from the dead they would change their minds. But he said to him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, they would not be persuaded if one arose from the dead.

The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hid in a field, which a man found, and concealed, and went away with joy, and sold all that he had and bought that field. And seek not what you shall eat, and what you shall drink, and be not of a doubtful mind; for all these things do the nations of the world seek; and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these shall be added to you.

because having known God they glorified him not as God neither were thankful, but became vain in their reasonings and their ignorant mind was darkened. Saying that they were wise they became foolish, and changed the glory of the imperishable God into the likeness of the image of perishable man, and of birds, and quadrupeds, and reptiles.

She following Paul and us, cried, saying, These men are servants of the Most High God, who declare to us the way of salvation; and this she did for many days.
