God exalted him to his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. We are witnesses of these things. The Holy Spirit, which God gave to those who obey him, also witnessed.

I will send the helper from the Father, the Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father to bear witness of me. You also bear witness because you have been with me from the beginning.

You will receive power, when the Holy Spirit comes on you and you will be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

You are witnesses of these things. You see I send the promise of my Father upon you. You are to wait in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.

We preached the good news to you, not in words only but with power from Holy Spirit and with conviction of its truth. You know how we lived when we were with you. It was for your own good.

How shall we escape, if we neglect such a great salvation? It was first presented by the Lord and was confirmed to us by those who heard him. God also testified about it with signs, wonders, and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit given according to his will.

Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is for your benefit that I go away. For if I do not go away the helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send it to you. Jesus responded: I tell you truth, except a man be born of water and the spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God! That which is born from the flesh is flesh and that which is born from the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I say you must be born again.read more.
The wind blows where it will. You hear the sound of it. Yet you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. It is like this with every one who is born from the Spirit.

After they came out of the water God's Spirit took Philip away. The eunuch did not see him again. He continued his journey rejoicing. Philip was seen passing through Azotus. He preached in all the cities, until he came to Caesarea.

The Spirit said to Philip: Go near, and climb on this chariot. Philip ran to him, heard him read the prophet Isaiah, and said: Do you understand what you are reading? How can I, the eunuch said: unless someone explains it to me? He invited Philip to come and sit with him.read more.
The Scripture he read was this: He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer so he did not open his mouth. In his humiliation his judgment was taken away. Who will declare his generation? For his life is taken from the earth. The eunuch asked Philip: Please tell me of whom is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else? Then Philip began at the same Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.

The Holy Spirit did not let them preach the message in the province of Asia. So they traveled through the region of Phrygia and Galatia. When they reached the border of Mysia, they tried to go into the province of Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them.

They conquered (overcame) him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they did not love their lives when faced with death.

Shod your feet with the preparation of the good news of peace. Also take up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

The people listened to Paul until he said this. Then they shouted at the top of their voices: Away with him! Kill him! He is not fit to live! They were screaming, throwing off their clothes, and throwing dust up in the air. The Roman commander ordered his men to take Paul into the barracks. He told them to whip him in order to find out why the Jews were screaming like this against him.read more.
When they tied him up to be whipped Paul said to the officer standing there, Is it lawful for you to whip a Roman citizen who has not been tried for a crime?

Pray on my behalf, that ability to speak may be given to me, to make known with boldness the secret of the good news. I am an ambassador in chains who should speak boldly.

Pray also for us that God may open to us a door for the word, to speak the secret of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned. Let me make it known, as I ought to speak.

Do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord or of me his prisoner. Join me in suffering for the good news according to the power of God.

To the angel of the congregation in Pergamum write: These are the words of him who has the sharp two-edged sword: I know where you live and where the throne of Satan is. You cling to my name and have not denied my faith, even in the days of Antipas my faithful witness. He was killed among you, where Satan dwells.

When the Lamb opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the persons who were slaughtered because of the word of God, and for the witness they gave.

I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the holy ones, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her I wondered greatly.

You will be taken before governors and kings for my sake. This will serve as a testimony to them and to the people of the nations. When they hand you over, do not worry about what to say and how to say it. You will be given the words to speak at that time. You will not speak on your own. Your Father's Spirit will speak through you.

Be on guard for they will deliver you up to courts. You will be beaten in the meeting places. You will be taken before governors and kings for a testimony to them for my sake. And the good news must first be preached to all the nations. When they deliver you up to judgment, do not worry before hand what you shall speak. Holy Spirit will give it to you at that time.

Even before all these things, they will capture you, and persecute you. You will be delivered to synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and governors for my name's sake. It will give you an opportunity to witness. Do not think about what you will say before it happens.read more.
I will give you ability to talk and words of wisdom, which your adversaries shall not be able to resist or refute.

Being full of the Holy Spirit, he gazed intently into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.

They captured the apostles and put them in the common prison. During the night God's angel opened the prison doors, brought them out and said:

The Lord said to Paul in the night by a vision: Do not be afraid, but speak. Do not keep silent! I am with you and no man will harm you. I have many people in this city.

Saul agreed to his death. There was at that time a great persecution against the congregation at Jerusalem. All but the apostles were scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria. They who were scattered abroad went everywhere preaching the word. Then Philip went to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ to them.

I would have you know, brothers that the things that happened to me turned out for the greater progress of the good news. My imprisonment in Christ became known throughout the whole Praetorian Guard, and to all brothers. Most of the brothers trust in the Lord and boldly speak the word of God without fear because of my bonds.
