'Boasting' in the Bible
So Zebul replied, "Right... So where's your boasting now? You said, "Who is Abimelech? Should we serve him?' Isn't this the army that you insulted? So go out right now and fight them!"
Now Adonijah, son of David and Haggith, was promoting himself, boasting, "I will be king!" He managed to acquire chariots and horsemen, as well as fifty men to serve as his royal guard.

But I have not used any of these rights, and I'm not writing this so that they may be applied in my case. I would rather die than let anyone deprive me of my reason for boasting.
For if I preach the gospel, I have no reason for boasting, because I am compelled to do this. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!
Daily I die, by your boasting which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord.
For our boasting is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and sincerity before God, (not in fleshly wisdom but in God's grace,) we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly towards you.

and he who is boasting -- in the Lord let him boast;
I wish you could have borne with a little foolish boasting on my part. Nay, do bear with me.
As the truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia.
But I will continue to do what I am doing, in order to deny the opportunity of those who want an opportunity to be regarded just as our equals in what they boast about.

For who is our hope or joy or crown of boasting in the presence of our Lord Jesus at His coming? Is it not you?
But if you have bitter jealousy and rivalry in your hearts, stop boasting and slandering the truth.
But as it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.
