'Immediately' in the Bible

Now then, my son, do what I say. Run away immediately to my brother Laban in Haran.

Leave immediately for Paddan Aram! Go to the house of Bethuel, your mother's father, and find yourself a wife there, among the daughters of Laban, your mother's brother.

I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed the sacred stone and made a vow to me. Now leave this land immediately and return to your native land.'"

So Jacob immediately put his children and his wives on the camels.

She left immediately, removed her veil, and put on her widow's clothes.

Then Judah said to his father Israel, "Send the boy with me and we will go immediately. Then we will live and not die -- we and you and our little ones.

But if you are going to deal with me like this, then kill me immediately. If I have found favor in your sight then do not let me see my trouble."

Instead, Jonah immediately headed off to Tarshish to escape from the commission of the Lord. He traveled to Joppa and found a merchant ship heading to Tarshish. So he paid the fare and went aboard it to go with them to Tarshish far away from the Lord.

"Go immediately to Nineveh, that large city, and proclaim to it the message that I tell you."

So Jonah went immediately to Nineveh, as the Lord had said. (Now Nineveh was an enormous city -- it required three days to walk through it!)

Her spirit returned, and she got up immediately. Then he told them to give her something to eat.

be like people waiting for their master to come back from the wedding celebration, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him.

Then he placed his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.

Then he said to them, "Which of you, if you have a son or an ox that has fallen into a well on a Sabbath day, will not immediately pull him out?"

And immediately he regained his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they too gave praise to God.

While the people were listening to these things, Jesus proceeded to tell a parable, because he was near to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God was going to appear immediately.
