And Jehovah God saith, 'Lo, the man was as one of Us, as to the knowledge of good and evil; and now, lest he send forth his hand, and have taken also of the tree of life, and eaten, and lived to the age,' --

Then Cain went out from the Lord’s presence and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden.

Adam lived 800 years after the birth of Seth, and he fathered other sons and daughters.

After Noah had lived 500 years, he fathered Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

There were Nephilim (men of stature, notorious men) on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God lived with the daughters of men, and they gave birth to their children. These were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown (great reputation, fame).

Everything that breathed and everything that had lived on dry land died.

All existing creatures that had lived on the surface of the ground were annihilated, from humans to livestock, from crawling creatures to birds of the sky. They were wiped off the earth. Only Noah remained, along with those who were with him in the ark.

And Reu lived after he begat Serug two hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters.

And Serug lived after he begat Nahor two hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.

And Nahor lived after he begat Terah an hundred and nineteen years, and begat sons and daughters.

And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran.

Terah took Abram his son, Lot the son of Haran, his son's son, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram's wife. They went forth from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan. They came to Haran and lived there.

say, I pray thee, thou art my sister, so that it is well with me because of thee, and my soul hath lived for thy sake.'

There was a strife between the herdsmen of Abram's livestock and the herdsmen of Lot's livestock: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite lived in the land at that time.

Abram lived in the land of Canaan, but Lot lived in the cities of the valley and set up his tent near Sodom.

From there Abraham traveled to the region of the Negev and settled between Kadesh and Shur. While he lived in Gerar,

Isaac came from the way of Beer Lahai Roi, for he lived in the land of the South.

After Abraham’s death, God blessed his son Isaac, who lived near Beer-lahai-roi.

Ishmael lived for 137 years, then he took his last breath, died, and joined his ancestors.

And they settled from Havilah to Shur, which is opposite Egypt as you go toward Asshur. He lived in opposition to all his brothers.

So Isaac lived in Gerar.

He became very wealthy and lived a life of wealth, becoming more and more wealthy.

So Isaac left there, camped in the Valley of Gerar, and lived there.

But the herdsmen who lived in Gerar quarreled with Isaac's herdsmen. "The water is ours," they said. As a result, Isaac named the well Esek, for they had fiercely disputed with him about it.

May he give you and your descendants the blessings that he gave Abraham. May you possess the land where you have lived that God gave to Abraham."

Jacob journeyed on and reached the territory that belonged to the people who lived in the east.

Laban said to him, "Surely you are my bone and my flesh." He lived with him for a month.

So Laban gathered all the men who lived in that place and held a wedding festival.

So Jacob consummated his marriage and lived with Rachel [as his wife], and he loved Rachel more than Leah, and he served with Laban for another seven years.

I've lived in your house these 20 years serving fourteen years for your two daughters and another six years for your flocks. During all that time you changed my wages ten times.

So Jacob reached his father Isaac at Mamre, in Kiriath-arba (also known as Hebron), where Abraham and Isaac had lived.

Then Isaac breathed his last and joined his ancestors. He died an old man who had lived a full life. His sons Esau and Jacob buried him.

So Esau (that is, Edom) lived in the mountains of Seir.

These were the descendants of Seir the Horite, who lived in the territory: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,
