'Sight' in the Bible
the blind receive sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised, and the poor have good news announced to [them].
And having compassion, Jesus touched their eyes, and immediately they received [their] sight and followed him.
And Jesus answered him [and] said, "What do you want {me to do} for you?" And the blind man said to him, "Rabboni, that I may regain [my] sight."
And Jesus said to him, "Go, your faith has healed you." And immediately he regained [his] sight and began to follow him on the road.
And they were both righteous in the sight of God, living blamelessly in all the commandments and regulations of the Lord.
For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and he must never drink wine or beer, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit [while he is] still in his mother's womb.
"The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon me, because of which he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to send out in freedom those who are oppressed,
In that hour he healed many [people] of diseases and suffering and evil spirits, and he granted sight to many blind [people].
And he answered [and] said to them, "Go [and] tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear; the dead are raised, the poor have good news announced to [them].
Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten in the sight of God.
I will set out [and] go to my father and will say to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and {in your sight}!
And [his] son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and {in your sight}! I am no longer worthy to be called your son!'
And he said to them, "You are the ones who justify themselves in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts! For [what is] [considered] exalted among men [is] an abomination in the sight of God.
"What do you want me to do for you?" And he said, "Lord, that I may regain [my] sight.
And Jesus said to him, "Regain [your] sight! Your faith has saved you."
And immediately he regained [his] sight and began to follow him, glorifying God. And all the people, [when they] saw [it], gave praise to God.
And they were not able to catch [him] in a statement in the sight of the people, and astonished at his answer, they became silent.
He replied, "The man who is called Jesus made clay and smeared [it] on my eyes and said to me, 'Go to Siloam and wash!' So I went, and I washed, [and] I received sight."
So the Pharisees also were asking him again how he received sight. And he said to them, "He put clay on my eyes, and I washed, and I see."
So the Jews did not believe concerning him that he had been blind and received sight, until they summoned the parents of the one who received sight.
And [after he] had said these [things], [while] they were watching, he was taken up, and a cloud received him from their sight.
But Peter and John answered [and] said to them, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than God, you decide!
and rescued him from all his afflictions and granted him favor and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt. And he appointed him ruler over Egypt and all his household.
And [when] Moses saw [it], he was astonished at the sight, and [when] he approached to look at [it], the voice of the Lord came:
who found favor in the sight of God and asked to find a habitation for the God of Jacob.
and he has seen in a vision a man {named} Ananias coming in and placing hands on him so that he may regain [his] sight."
So Ananias departed and entered into the house, and placing [his] hands on him, he said, "Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road by which you came, has sent me so that you may regain [your] sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit."
And immediately [something] like scales fell from his eyes and he regained [his] sight and got up [and] was baptized,
and many of those who practiced magic brought together [their] books [and] burned [them] up in the sight of everyone. And they counted up their value and found [it was] {fifty thousand silver coins}.
came to me and stood by [me] [and] said to me, 'Brother Saul, regain [your] sight!' And [at that] same time I looked up at him [and saw him].
For it is not the hearers of the law [who are] righteous in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be declared righteous.
For I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, of this mystery, so that you will not be wise {in your own sight}, that a partial hardening has happened to Israel, until the full number of the Gentiles has come in,
Think the same [thing] toward one another; {do not think arrogantly}, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise {in your own sight}.
Pay back no one evil for evil. Take thought for [what is] good in the sight of all people.
Now [it is] clear that no one is justified in the sight of God by the law, because "the one who is righteous will live by faith."
since [it is] righteous in the sight of God to pay back those who are afflicting you with affliction,
But if any widow has children or grandchildren, they must learn to show profound respect for their own household first, and to pay back recompense to their parents, for this is pleasing in the sight of God.
I command you, in the sight of God who gives life to all [things] and Christ Jesus who testified the good confession before Pontius Pilate,
And no creature is hidden in the sight of him, but all [things are] naked and laid bare to the eyes of him to whom {we must give our account}.
Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their affliction, [and] to keep oneself unstained by the world.
to whom you are drawing near, a living stone rejected by men but chosen [and] precious in the sight of God.
but the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable [quality] of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is highly valuable in the sight of God.
and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do [what is] pleasing {in his sight}.
