'Yourself' in the Bible
and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down. For it is written, 'He will command his angels concerning you' and 'with their hands they will lift you up, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'"
And he said to him, "I will give you all these things if you throw yourself to the ground and worship me."
Then Jesus said to him, "See that you do not speak to anyone, but go, show yourself to a priest, and bring the offering that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."
honor your father and mother, and love your neighbor as yourself."
and said to him, "Do you hear what they are saying?" Jesus said to them, "Yes. Have you never read, 'Out of the mouths of children and nursing infants you have prepared praise for yourself'?"
The second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'

and saying, "You who can destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself! If you are God's Son, come down from the cross!"
He told him, "See that you do not say anything to anyone, but go, show yourself to a priest, and bring the offering that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them."
The second is: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."
And to love him with all your heart, with all your mind, and with all your strength and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices."
Then the devil brought him to Jerusalem, had him stand on the highest point of the temple, and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here,

How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me remove the speck from your eye,' while you yourself don't see the beam in your own? You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
So Jesus went with them. When he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to say to him, "Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof.
The expert answered, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself."
Then he said to them, "Watch out and guard yourself from all types of greed, because one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."
But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your life will be demanded back from you, but who will get what you have prepared for yourself?'
Won't the master instead say to him, 'Get my dinner ready, and make yourself ready to serve me while I eat and drink. Then you may eat and drink'?
and saying, "If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself!"
One of the criminals who was hanging there railed at him, saying, "Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us!"
Then they said to him, "Who are you? Tell us so that we can give an answer to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?"
For no one who seeks to make a reputation for himself does anything in secret. If you are doing these things, show yourself to the world."
So the Pharisees objected, "You testify about yourself; your testimony is not true!"
"Lord," Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, "what has happened that you are going to reveal yourself to us and not to the world?"
But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back for yourself part of the proceeds from the sale of the land?
But Paul called out loudly, "Do not harm yourself, for we are all here!"
take them and purify yourself along with them and pay their expenses, so that they may have their heads shaved. Then everyone will know there is nothing in what they have been told about you, but that you yourself live in conformity with the law.
When you examine him yourself, you will be able to learn from him about all these things we are accusing him of doing."

For by the grace given to me I say to every one of you not to think more highly of yourself than you ought to think, but to think with sober discernment, as God has distributed to each of you a measure of faith.
For the commandments, "Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not covet," (and if there is any other commandment) are summed up in this, "Love your neighbor as yourself."
The faith you have, keep to yourself before God. Blessed is the one who does not judge himself by what he approves.
For the whole law can be summed up in a single commandment, namely, "You must love your neighbor as yourself."
Instead of being motivated by selfish ambition or vanity, each of you should, in humility, be moved to treat one another as more important than yourself.
By pointing out such things to the brothers and sisters, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, having nourished yourself on the words of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed.
But reject those myths fit only for the godless and gullible, and train yourself for godliness.
Be conscientious about how you live and what you teach. Persevere in this, because by doing so you will save both yourself and those who listen to you.
Do not lay hands on anyone hastily and so identify with the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.
Make every effort to present yourself before God as a proven worker who does not need to be ashamed, teaching the message of truth accurately.

But if you fulfill the royal law as expressed in this scripture, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself," you are doing well.
