Think not that I am come to abrogate the law, or the prophets: I am not come to abolish, but to compleat them: for verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, not one jot nor one tittle shall pass from the law, till all be compleated.

But now, without the law, righteousness before God is manifested, being attested by the law and the prophets; and this righteousness of God is by faith in Jesus Christ unto all and upon all believers; for there is no difference;

But continue thou in the things which thou hast learnt, and been assured of, knowing from whom thou hast learned them; and that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation, through faith in Christ Jesus: for all scripture is by inspiration from God,

and account the long-suffering of our Lord salvation, as our beloved brother Paul also, according to the wisdom given to him, hath written unto you; as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things: in which are some things hard to be understood, which the illiterate and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, to their own destruction.

I testify to every one that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any one add to these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: and if any one take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things that are written in this book.

God, who at sundry times, and various ways, spake of old unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken to us by his Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds.

For this reason we ought the more earnestly to attend to what we have heard, least by any means we should be found deficient. For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received it's just recompence; how shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation? which began to be declared by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by them that heard Him;read more.

See that ye reject not Him that speaketh; for if they escaped not, who rejected him that gave forth divine oracles on earth, much less shall we, if we turn away from Him that speaketh from heaven: whose voice then shook the earth; but now He hath promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also the heaven." Now this expression "yet once more" signifieth the removing of the things that are shaken, as of things which had been appointed only for a season, that those which cannot be shaken may remain.

Of which I was made a minister according to the dispensation of God, which is given me towards you, that I might fully declare the word of God: even that mystery which was hid from former ages and generations, but is now manifested to his saints: to whom God would make known the rich glory of this mystery, among the gentiles; which is this, that Christ is in you the hope of glory:

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.

And there is salvation in no other; for there is no other name under heaven given among men, by which we can be saved.

but when the fulness of the time came, God sent forth his Son born of a woman made under the law,

who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be as God. Yet He emptied himself, assuming the form of a servant, when made in the likeness of men: and being in the human state, He humbled himself, and was obedient even unto death, and that the death of the cross.

Seeing then the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also himself in like manner partook of them; that by death He might destroy him that had the empire of death, that is, the devil:

among whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of the unbelieving, so that the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, doth not shine unto them:

Who is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of the whole creation:

who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be as God.

Who being the refulgence of his glory and the imprest image of his person, and sustaining all things by his powerful word, having by Himself performed the purging away of our sins, sat down at the right hand of the majesty on high.

I have yet many things to say to you, but ye cannot bear them now. and He will give you another comforter to abide with you for ever: even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him, because He abideth with you, and shall be in you.

But when the comforter is come, whom I will send to you from the Father, (even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father,) He shall testify of me.

We are of God: he, that knoweth God, heareth us; but he, who is not of God, heareth not us. By this we know the Spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

This is He that came by water and by blood, even Jesus the Messiah; not with water only, but with water and blood: and of this the Spirit beareth witness, for the Spirit is truth.

Let him, that hath an ear, hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

But having different gifts, according to the grace conferred upon us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith:

And God hath placed you accordingly in the church, first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miraculous powers, then gifts of healing, helps, governments, and various kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? have all miraculous powers? have all the gifts of healing? do all speak many languages? do all interpret? but ye are all zealous for the best gifts.

Charity never faileth: but as to prophecies, they shall be abolished; or tongues, they shall cease; or knowledge, it shall be laid aside. For now we know but in part, and we prophesy but in part. But when that which is perfect shall come, then that which is defective shall be laid aside.read more.

For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who will prepare himself for the battle? So also unless ye utter by the tongue intelligible words, how shall what is spoken be understood? for thus ye will be only talking to the wind. There are, it may be, as many kinds of voices in the world as people, and none of them insignificant. But if I know not the force of the words, I shall be to him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh will be a barbarian to me. So ye also, since ye are so desirous of spiritual gifts, seek to abound in them to the edification of the church. Wherefore let him, that speaketh in an unknown tongue, pray that he may interpret. For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit indeed prayeth, but my meaning is fruitless. What is then to be done? I will pray with the Spirit, but I will pray to be understood: I will sing with the spirit, but I will sing to be understood. For if thou bless in the spirit, how shall the unlearned say Amen to thy thanksgiving, when he knoweth not what thou sayst? thou indeed givest thanks well, but the other is not edified. I thank God, I speak with tongues more than you all. But in a public assembly I had rather speak five words to be understood, that I may instruct others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue. My brethren, be not children in sense: but in malice be infants, and in your judgements shew yourselves to be men. It is written in the law, "By men of another language, and by other lips, will I speak to this people, and even so they will not listen to me, saith the Lord." So that tongues are for a sign, not to believers but to unbelievers: but prophecy not to unbelievers but to those that believe. If then the whole church be come together and all speak in unknown tongues, and there come in illiterate persons, or infidels, will they not say that ye are mad? But if all prophesy, and there come in an unbeliever, or one unlearned, he is convinced by all, he is judged by all. And thus the secrets of his heart are made manifest; so that falling down upon his face he will worship God, declaring that God is indeed among you. What is then to be done, my brethren? when ye come together, if any of you hath a psalm, a doctrine, a tongue, a revelation, an interpretation,---let all be done for edification. And if any one speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at most by three, and that by turns; and let one interpret. But if there be no interpreter, let him be silent in the assembly; and let him speak to himself and to God. And let but two or three of the prophets speak, and the others judge. And if any thing be revealed to another sitting by, let the first have done speaking before the other begins. For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted. And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets: for God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as we see in all the assemblies of the saints.

And therefore He gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers; to qualify holy men for the work of the ministry,

Who is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of the whole creation: for by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are on the earth, the visible and the invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers; all were created by Him, and for Him. He is before all, and by Him all things subsist.read more.
And He is the head of the body, which is the church: who is the beginning, the first-born from the dead, that in all things He might have the pre-eminence. For it pleased the Father, that all fulness should dwell in Him; and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace by the blood of his cross; by Him only, whether they be things on earth, or things in heaven.

And Jesus raised his voice, and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me only, but on Him that sent me: and he that beholdeth me, beholdeth Him that sent me.

Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long with you, and dost thou not know me? Philip, he that hath seen me, hath seen the Father: and how then dost thou say, Shew us the Father?

having made known to us the secret of his will, according to his good pleasure, which He had before purposed in Himself: that in the dispensation of the fulness of times, He might reduce all things, both in heaven and on earth, under one head in Christ:

Now to Him that is able to establish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, (conformable to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret in former times, but is now manifested, and made known to all nations by the writings of the prophets, according to the appointment of the eternal God, for the obedience of faith) to the only wise God be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, that hidden wisdom which God ordained before the worlds for our glory: which none of the rulers of this age knew; for if they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written, "Eye hath not seen, and ear hath not heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, what things God hath prepared for those that love Him."read more.
But God hath revealed them to us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, even the deep things of God.

that by immediate revelation He made known to me the mystery, (as I wrote before in brief, by which, when ye read it, ye may perceive my knowledge in the mystery of Christ,) which in other generations was not made known to men, as it is now revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; that the Gentiles should be co-heirs,read more.
and of the same body, and joint-partakers of his promise in Christ, by the gospel: of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God conferred on me by the effectual operation of his power. On me, who am less than the least of all saints, was this grace bestowed, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and make all men to see the communication of the mystery, which from the ages past hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ; that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly regions; according to the ancient purpose, which He executed in Christ Jesus our Lord:

For it pleased the Father, that all fulness should dwell in Him; and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace by the blood of his cross; by Him only, whether they be things on earth, or things in heaven.
