The Lord said, I will make them come back from Bashan, and from the deep parts of the sea;

Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

Because Thou hast showed me many and sad distresses, Thou turnest back -- Thou revivest me, And from the depths of the earth, Thou turnest back -- Thou bringest me up.

To the Overseer. -- 'Concerning the Lily of Testimony,' a secret treasure of David, to teach, in his striving with Aram-Naharaim, and with Aram-Zobah, and Joab turneth back and smiteth Edom in the valley of Salt -- twelve thousand. O God, Thou hadst cast us off, Thou hadst broken us -- hadst been angry! -- Thou dost turn back to us.

Pay them back for their evil deeds! Pay them back for what they do! Punish them!

They divide my clothing among them
And cast lots for my garment.

Protect me as the most precious part of the eye; hide me under the shadow of your wings

For the love that I had unto them, they take now my contrary part; but I give myself unto prayer.

If I take the wings of the morning, and remain in the uttermost part of the sea,

Glorious is the King’s daughter within [the palace];
Her robe is interwoven with gold.

“When you see a thief, you are pleased with him and condone his behavior,
And you associate with adulterers.

Let death come deceitfully upon them;
Let them go down alive to Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead),
For evil [of every kind] is in their dwelling and in their hearts, in their midst.

I delight to do your will, my God. Your Law is part of my inner being."

They search out perverse things, 'We perfected a searching search,' And the inward part of man, and the heart are deep.

Without any fault on my part, they rush together and prepare themselves. Get up! Come help me! Pay attention!

O Lord God of hosts, who is like You, O mighty Lord?
Your faithfulness surrounds You [as an intrinsic, unchangeable part of Your very being].

The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.

You have assigned me to the lowest part of the Pit, to the darkest depths.

I will not even consider doing what is dishonest. I hate doing evil; I will have no part of it.

My substance was not hid from Thee, When I was made in secret, Curiously wrought in the lower part of earth.

There is nothing reliable in what they say;
Their inward part is destruction itself.
Their throat is an open grave;
They flatter with their tongue.

Who will rise up with me against the wicked? Who will take my part against the evil doers?

They only consult to thrust him down from his excellency; they delight in lies; they bless with their mouth, but in their inward part they curse. Selah.
