Every gorge shall be filled up, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low, and the crooked places shall become a straight path, and the rough places smooth ways,

Beware of the scribes, who like to walk about in long robes, and who love salutations in the market-places, and first seats in the synagogues, and first places at suppers;

Enter in through the narrow gate, for wide the gate and broad the way that leads to destruction, and many are they who enter in through it.

And all their works they do to be seen of men: for they make broad their phylacteries and enlarge the borders of their garments,
