And if those days had not been cut short, nobody would have escaped, but for the sake of God's chosen people those days will be cut short.

If the Lord had not cut those days short, nobody would have escaped, but for the sake of the people chosen as His own He has cut them short.

So celebrate your triumph, you heavens and you who live in them! Alas for the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you in a great rage, since he knows that his time is short!"

I mean this, brothers. The time has been cut short. For the future, men who have wives should live as though they had none,

Whoever claims, "I am always in union with Him," ought to live as He lived.

For Christ died and lived again for the very purpose of being Lord of both the dead and the living.

For they disciplined us only a short time, as it seemed proper to them, but He does it for our good, in order that we may share His holy character.
