In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and apart from Him was not even one thing made that has been made.
And the Word became flesh, and tabernacled among us, (and we beheld His glory??lory as of the Only Begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth.
God, having in many parts and many ways spoken, of old, to the fathers in the prophets, at the end of these days spake to us in His Son, Whom He appointed Heir of all things, through Whom also He constituted the ages;
That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we gazed upon, and our hands handled, concerning the Word of Life (and the Life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you The Eternal Life; Who, indeed, was with the Father, and was manifested to us);
and He is clothed with a garment sprinkled with blood; and His name is called "THE WORD OF GOD."
And many were gathered together, so that there was no longer room, not even about the door; and He was speaking the word to them.
"Every one, therefore, who hears these words of Mine, and does them, shall be likened to a prudent man, who, indeed, built his house upon the rock; and the rain descended, and the streams came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not, for it had been founded on the rock. And it came to pass that, when Jesus ended these words, the multitudes were astonished at His teaching; for He was teaching them as One having authority, and not as the scribes.
"Every one who comes to Me, and hears My words, and does them, I will show you to whom he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug and went deep, and laid a foundation on the rock; and, a flood coming, the stream broke against that house, and could not shake it; because it was well built. But he who heard and did not, is like a man who built a house upon the earth without a foundation; against which the stream broke, and straightway it collapsed; and the ruin of that house was great."
And he that was sown on the rocky places, this is he who hears the word, and straightway with joy receives it; yet he has not root in himself, but is only temporary; and, when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, straightway he stumbles. And he that was sown among the thorns, this is he that hears the word; and the anxiety of the age and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.read more.
But he that was sown on the good ground, this is he that hears the word and understands it; who, indeed, bears fruit, and produces, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty."
And He saith to them, "Know ye not this parable? And how will ye know all the parables? The sower sows the word. And these are those by the wayside, where the word is sown; and, when they hear, straightway Satan comes, and catches away the word which has been sown in them.read more.

And those by the wayside are those who heard; then the Devil comes, and takes away the word from their heart; lest, having believed, they should be saved. I will not leave you orphans; I am coming to you. Yet a little while, and the world beholds Me no more; but ye behold Me; because I live, ye shall live also. I manifested Thy name to the men whom Thou gavest Me out of the world. Thine they were; and Thou gavest them to Me; and they have kept Thy word. Neither can salt water yield sweet.
