Then the king said, "You must certainly die, Ahimelech, you and all your father's household!"
and said unto him, "Fear not, for the hand of Saul my father shall not find thee, and thou shalt be king over Israel, and I must be next unto thee: And Saul my father thereto knoweth that it shall be so."
Then you must say to him, '[Long] life [to you], and {may it go well with you, with your house, and with all that is yours}.
Now consider carefully what you must do, because there is certain to be trouble for our master and his entire family. He is such a worthless fool nobody can talk to him!”
And David said - By the life of Yahweh, surely, Yahweh himself, must smite him, - or, his day, must come that he die, or, into battle, must he go down, and be swept away.
This thing that you have done is not good. As the Lord lives, all of you
Then David {thought to himself}, "Now I will perish one day by the hand of Saul! There is nothing better for me but [that] I must certainly escape to the land of [the] Philistines. Then Saul will desist from searching for me further in all of the territories of Israel, and so I will escape from his hand."
In those days the Philistines gathered their troops for war in order to fight Israel. Achish said to David, "You should fully understand that you and your men must go with me into the battle."
The Philistine commanders, however, were enraged with Achish and told him, “Send that man back and let him return to the place you assigned him.
So turn and leave in peace. You must not do anything that the leaders of the Philistines consider improper!"
Achish replied to David, "I am convinced that you are as reliable as the angel of God! However, the leaders of the Philistines have said, 'He must not go up with us in the battle.'
