And continuing, Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying,
But [because he] knew their maliciousness, Jesus said, "Hypocrites! Why are you testing me?
But Jesus answered [and] said to them, "You are mistaken, [because] you do not know the scriptures or the power of God!
Now [while] the Pharisees were assembled, Jesus asked them,
Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples,
And [as] Jesus went out of the temple [courts] he was going along, and his disciples came up to point out to him the buildings of the temple.
And Jesus answered [and] said to them, "Watch out that no one deceives you!
And it happened that when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said to his disciples,
and plotted in order that they could arrest Jesus by stealth and kill [him].
But Jesus, knowing [this], said to them, "Why do you cause trouble for the woman? For she has done a good deed for me.
Now on the first [day] of the feast of Unleavened Bread the disciples came up to Jesus, saying, "Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?"
And the disciples did as Jesus directed them, and they prepared the Passover.
Now [while] they were eating Jesus took bread and, [after] giving thanks, he broke [it], and giving [it] to the disciples, he said, "Take, eat, this is my body."
Then Jesus said to them, "You will all fall away because of me during this night, for it is written, 'I will strike the shepherd and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.'
Jesus said to him, "Truly I say to you that during this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times!"
Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to the disciples, "Sit here while I go over there [and] pray."
And he came up to Jesus immediately [and] said, "Greetings, Rabbi," and kissed him.
And Jesus said to him, "Friend, [do that] for which you have come." Then they came up [and] laid hands on Jesus and arrested him.
And behold, one of those with Jesus extended his hand [and] drew his sword, and striking the slave of the high priest, cut off his ear.
Then Jesus said to him, "Put your sword back into its place! For all who take up the sword will die by the sword.
At that time Jesus said to the crowds, "Have you come out with swords and clubs, as against a robber, to arrest me? Every day in the temple [courts] I sat teaching, and you did not arrest me!
Now those who had arrested Jesus led [him] away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders had gathered.
Now the chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false testimony against Jesus in order that they could put him to death.
But Jesus was silent. And the high priest said to him, "I put you under oath by the living God, that you tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God!"
Jesus said to him, "You have said [it]. But I tell you, from now [on] you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power and coming on the clouds of heaven."
Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard, and a female slave came up to him [and] said, "You also were with Jesus the Galilean."
And [when he] went out to the gateway, another [female slave] saw him and said to those [who were] there, "This man was with Jesus the Nazarene."
And Peter remembered the statement Jesus had said, "Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times," and he went outside [and] wept bitterly.
Now [when it] was early morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus in order to put him to death.
So Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked him, saying, "Are you the king of the Jews?" And Jesus said, "You say [so]."
And at that time they had a notorious prisoner named Jesus Barabbas.
So [after] they had assembled, Pilate said to them, "Whom do you want me to release for you--Jesus Barabbas or Jesus who is called Christ?"
But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds that they should ask for Barabbas and put Jesus to death.
Pilate said to them, "What then should I do [with] Jesus, the one who is called Christ?" They all said, "Let him be crucified!"
Then he released Barabbas for them, but [after] he had Jesus flogged, he handed [him] over so that he could be crucified.
Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the governor's residence [and] gathered the whole cohort to him.
And they put above his head the charge against him {in writing}: "This is Jesus, the king of the Jews."
And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" (that is, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?")
And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice [and] gave up his spirit.
Now the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus, [when they] saw the earthquake and the things that took place, were extremely frightened, saying, "Truly this man was God's Son!"
And there were many women there, observing from a distance, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, serving him,
Now [when it] was evening, a rich man from Arimathea named Joseph came, who also was a disciple of Jesus himself.
This man approached Pilate [and] asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate ordered [it] to be given [to him].
But the angel answered [and] said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
And behold, Jesus met them, saying, "Greetings!" And they came up [and] took hold of his feet and worshiped him.
Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid! Go tell my brothers that they should go to Galilee, and there they will see me."
So the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated for them.
And Jesus approached [and] spoke to them, saying, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
And it happened that in those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized in the Jordan by John.
And after John {had been taken into custody}, Jesus went into Galilee proclaiming the gospel of God
And Jesus said to them, "{Follow} me and I will make you become fishers of people."
saying, "{Leave us alone}, Jesus the Nazarene! Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are--the Holy One of God!"
And Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be silent, and come out of him!"
And [when] Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Child, your sins are forgiven."
And immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they were reasoning like this within themselves, said to them, "Why are you considering these [things] in your hearts?
And it happened that he {was dining} in his house, and many tax collectors and sinners {were dining with} Jesus and his disciples, for there were many and they were following him.
And [when] Jesus heard [it], he said to them, "Those who are healthy do not have need of a physician, but those {who are sick}. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
And Jesus said to them, "The {bridegroom's attendants} are not able to fast while the bridegroom is with them, [are they]? As long a time [as] they have the bridegroom with them, they are not able to fast.
And Jesus went away with his disciples to the sea, and a great crowd from Galilee followed [him]. And from Judea
And [when he] saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and knelt down before him.
And crying out with a loud voice he said, "{What have I to do with you}, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore you by God, do not torment me!"
And they came to Jesus and saw the demon-possessed man sitting [there] clothed and in his right mind--the one who had had the legion--and they were afraid.
And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him, and they were all astonished.
And [after] Jesus had crossed over again in the boat to the other side, a large crowd gathered to him, and he was beside the sea.
[When she] heard about Jesus, she came up in the crowd behind [him] [and] touched his cloak,
And immediately Jesus, perceiving in himself [that] power had gone out from himself, turned around in the crowd [and] said, "Who touched my clothing?"
But Jesus, ignoring {what was said}, told the ruler of the synagogue, "Do not be afraid--only believe!"
And Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown, and among his relatives, and in his [own] household."
And the apostles regathered to Jesus and reported to him everything that they had done and that they had taught.
And Jesus and his disciples went out to the villages of Caesarea Philippi, and on the way he asked his disciples, saying to them, "Who do people say [that] I am?"
And after six days, Jesus took along Peter and James and John, and led them to a high mountain by themselves alone. And he was transfigured before them,
And Elijah appeared to them together with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus.
And Peter answered [and] said to Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good [that] we are here! And let us make three shelters, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah."
And suddenly, looking around, they no longer saw anyone with them but Jesus alone.
But Jesus said to him, "If you are able! All [things] [are] possible for the one who believes!"
Now [when] Jesus saw that a crowd was running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, "Mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and enter into him no more!"
But Jesus took hold of his hand [and] raised him up, and he stood up.
But Jesus said, "Do not prevent him, because there is no one who does a miracle in my name and will be able soon afterward to speak evil of me.
But Jesus said to them, "He wrote this commandment for you because of your hardness of heart.
But [when] Jesus saw [it], he was indignant, and said to them, "Let the young children come to me. Do not forbid them, {for to such belongs} the kingdom of God.
So Jesus said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one [is] good except God alone.
And Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, "You lack one [thing]: Go, sell all that you have, and give [the proceeds] to the poor--and you will have treasure in heaven--and come, follow me."
And Jesus looked around [and] said to his disciples, "How {difficult it is for} those who possess wealth to enter into the kingdom of God!"
And the disciples were astounded at his words. But Jesus answered [and] said to them again, "Children, how difficult it is to enter into the kingdom of God!
Jesus looked at them [and] said, "With human beings [it is] impossible, but not with God. For all [things] [are] possible with God."
Jesus said, "Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields on account of me and on account of the gospel
Now they were on the road going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was going on ahead of them. And they were astounded, but those who were following [him] were afraid. And taking aside the twelve again, he began to tell them the things that were about to happen to him:
But Jesus said to them, "You do not know what you are asking! Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?"
And they said to him, "We are able." So Jesus said to them, "You will drink the cup that I drink, and you will be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with,
And Jesus called them to himself [and] said to them, "You know that those who are considered to rule over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their [people] in high positions exercise authority over them.
And [when he] heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!"
And Jesus stopped [and] said, "Call him." And they called the blind man [and] said to him, "Have courage! Get up! He is calling you."
And he threw off his cloak, jumped up, [and] came to Jesus.
And Jesus answered him [and] said, "What do you want {me to do} for you?" And the blind man said to him, "Rabboni, that I may regain [my] sight."
And Jesus said to him, "Go, your faith has healed you." And immediately he regained [his] sight and began to follow him on the road.
So they told them, just as Jesus had said, and they allowed them [to take it].
And they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, and he sat on it.
And Jesus answered [and] said to them, "Have faith in God!
