As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so the Son of man must also be lifted up. Everyone who has an active faith in him may have everlasting life. For God loved the world so much, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever has an active faith in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. read more.
God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world. Instead the world should be saved through him. He who has an active faith in him is not judged. He who does not have an active faith has been judged already for he has not had faith in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Jesus turned to speak to the large crowd of people who were traveling with him: You who come to me may not be my disciple unless you love me more than you love your father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters and yourself. If you plan to build a tower, you sit down first and figure out what it will cost. Then you see if you have enough money to finish the job. If you do not, you will not be able to finish the project after laying the foundation. Everyone who sees what happened will ridicule and poke fun of you. You started and could not finish,' they will say. When a king commands ten thousand men to fight another king who comes against him with twenty thousand men, he will sit down first and decide if he is strong enough to defeat the other king. If he is not strong enough he will send messengers to the other king to ask for terms of peace while he is still far away. Likewise, concluded Jesus, none of you may be my disciples unless you give up everything you have.

Seeing him Jesus said: It is very difficult for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. It is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. They heard this and asked: Than who can be saved?

Jesus answered: Truly I tell you unless a person is born again (brought forth from above) he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus asked: How could a man be born when he is old? That which is born from the flesh is flesh and that which is born from the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I say you must be born again. The wind blows where it will. You hear the sound of it. Yet you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. It is like this with every one who is born from the Spirit. Nicodemus asked: How can these things be? Jesus answered: Are you a teacher of Israel and you do not understand these things? This is the truth. We speak what we know and witness about what we have seen. But you do not receive our testimony. If I told you earthly things and you did not have faith, how will you have faith if I tell you heavenly things?
