The Beloved to Her Lover: Make haste, my beloved! Be like a gazelle or a young stag on the mountains of spices.

My lover is like a gazelle or a young stag. Look! There he stands behind our wall, gazing through the window, peering through the lattice.

Then if you and your descendants turn to the Lord your God and obey him with your whole mind and being just as I am commanding you today,


If a fellow Israelite from one of your villages in the land that the Lord your God is giving you should be poor, you must not harden your heart or be insensitive to his impoverished condition.


Listen, my child, and be wise, and guide your heart on the right way.








not like those who do their work only when someone is watching -- as people-pleasers -- but as slaves of Christ doing the will of God from the heart.










Give me a desire for your rules, rather than for wealth gained unjustly.

Death and Destruction are before the Lord -- how much more the hearts of humans!
