Now the feast of the dedication came on at Jerusalem: and it was winter.

By faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the first born should touch them.

They therefore gathered them, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley-loaves, which remained over and above to them that had eaten.

There they made him a supper, and Martha served; but Lazarus was one of them who sat at table with him.

And Levi made him a great entertainment, in his own house; and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them.

And when the day of Pentecost was come, they were all with one accord in one place.

And he saith to me, Write: Happy are they who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith to me, These are the true sayings of God.

And as they ate, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.

Again he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them who were invited, behold I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come to the marriage.

Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, on the feast day, many believed in his name, beholding the miracles which he did.

And he said to them, With desire have I desired to eat this passover with you, before I suffer.

And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say to him, The Master saith, My time is at hand: I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples. When the evening was come, he sat down with the twelve. And as they ate he said, Verily I say to you, One of you will betray me.

For I say to you, that none of those men who were invited, shall taste of my supper.

Then said he to him, A certain man made a great supper and invited many. And he sent his servants at supper time to say to them that were invited, Come, for all things are now ready. And the servant said, Sir, it is done as thou hast commanded; and yet there is room. And the lord said to the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. And Jesus answering, spake to them again in parables, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like a king, who made a marriage-feast for his son. And sent forth his servants to call them that were invited, to the marriage; but they would not come. read more.
Again he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them who were invited, behold I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come to the marriage. But they slighting it, went one to his farm, another to his merchandise. And the rest laying hold on his servants, treated them shamefully and slew them. And the king hearing it was wroth, and sending forth his troops, destroyed those murderers and burnt their city. Then saith he to his servants, The marriage-feast is prepared, but they who were invited were not worthy. Go ye therefore into the highways, and invite whomsoever ye find to the wedding-banquet. So those servants going out into the highways, gathered together all whomsoever they found, both bad and good. And the feast was abundantly supplied with guests. For many are called, but few chosen.

And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, Come, and gather yourselves together to the great supper of God,

After these things were ended, Paul purposed in spirit, having passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must see Rome also.

Now after several years I came to bring alms to my nation and offerings.

For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, that he might not spend any time in Asia; for he hasted, if it were possible, to be at Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.

and came to them at Troas in five days, where we abode seven days.

But took his leave of them, saying, I must by all means keep the approaching feast at Jerusalem, but I will return to you again, if God will.

Now among those who came up to worship at the feast, there were certain Greeks.

And when the day of Pentecost was come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there was a sound from heaven, as of a rushing, violent wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them distinct tongues, as of fire; and it sat upon each of them. read more.
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. And when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together and were confounded, because every man heard them speaking in his own language. And they were amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these who are speaking Galileans? And how hear we every one, in our own native language? Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and dwellers in Mesopotamia, and Judea, and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt, and the parts of Africk about Cyrene, and Roman sojourners, (Jews and Proselytes) Cretans and Arabians, we hear them speaking in our tongues the wonderful works of God?

saying to them, When thou art invited by any man to a marriage-feast, sit not down in the highest place, lest a more honourable man than thou be invited by him, And he that invited thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place. And then thou shalt begin with shame to take the lowest place. But when thou art invited, go and sit down in the lowest place, that when he who invited thee cometh, he may say, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have honour in the presence of them that sit at table with thee. For every one that exalteth himself shall be humbled, and he that

Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year, at the feast of the passover.

And a convenient day being come, when Herod on his birth-day made a feast, for his lords, captains, and principal men of Galilee:

But when Herod's birth-day was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod.

And he answering said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same will betray me.
