But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. This wisdom is not such as comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every evil practice.

We must not indulge in immorality as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand fell in one day.
I am afraid that when I come again my God will humble me before you, and I will have to mourn over many of those who sinned before and have not repented of the impurity, immorality, and lewdness which they have practiced.
They have eyes full of adultery, that never cease from sin; they entice unstable souls. They have hearts trained in greed. Accursed children!

They must be silenced, because they are upsetting whole families by teaching things they ought not to teach for the sake of sordid gain.
and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality, greedy for the practice of every kind of impurity.
For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural. And the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in their own persons the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to retain the knowledge of God, God gave them over to a base mind, to do what ought not to be done.read more.
They were filled with all manner of wickedness, evil, covetousness, depravity. Full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless.
But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of stress. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,read more.

And he said, 'I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build larger ones; and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry."' But God said to him, 'Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have prepared?'read more.

These indeed have an appearance of wisdom in promoting self-made religion and self-abasement and severe treatment of the body, but they are of no value against fleshly indulgence.
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live sober, upright, and godly lives in this present age,
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance,
so as to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human lusts, but for the will of God.
For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that is, that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to take his own spouse for himself in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the heathen, who do not know God;
Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. Therefore I do not run aimlessly. I do not box as a man beating the air. But I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.
