And the king made of the almug trees a support for the house of Jehovah, and for the king's house, also lyres and harps for singers. No such almug wood has come or been seen to this day.
And the king made terraces to the house of Jehovah with the algum trees, and terraces to the king's palace, and lyres and harps for singers. And there were none such seen before in the land of Judah.

How shall we sing Jehovah's song in a foreign land?
And these were the singers, chief of the fathers of the Levites in the chambers, they were free of duty, for they were employed in that work day and night.
And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was for song. He instructed about the song, because he was skillful.
And these are the men whom David set over the service of song in the house of Jehovah, after the ark had rest. And they ministered before the dwelling-place of the tabernacle of the congregation with singing, until Solomon had built the house of Jehovah in Jerusalem. And they waited on their office according to their order.
All these were under the hands of their father for song in the house of Jehovah, with cymbals, harps and lyres, for the service of the house of God, according to the king's order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman. So the number of them, with their brothers who were instructed in the songs of Jehovah, all that were skillful, was two hundred and eighty-eight.

And the overseer of the Levites at Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micha. Of the sons of Asaph, the singers were over the business of the house of God.
For in the days of David and Asaph of old there were chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.
