'Violence' in the Bible
Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight, and the earth was filled with wickedness.
Then God said to Noah, “I have decided to put an end to every creature, for the earth is filled with wickedness because of them; therefore I am going to destroy them along with the earth.
my God, my mountain where I seek refuge.My shield, the horn of my salvation, my stronghold, my refuge,and my Savior, You save me from violence.
although my hands are free from violenceand my prayer is pure.
I cry out: “Violence!” but get no response;I call for help, but there is no justice.
Light is withheld from the wicked,and the arm raised in violence is broken.
His trouble comes back on his own head,and his violence falls on the top of his head.
Cursing, deceit, and violence fill his mouth;trouble and malice are under his tongue.
The Lord examines the righteous and the wicked.He hates the lover of violence.

Therefore, pride is their necklace,and violence covers them like a garment.
Consider the covenant,for the dark places of the land are full of violence.
They eat the bread of wickednessand drink the wine of violence.
Blessings are on the head of the righteous,but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.
The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life,but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,but violence takes lives.
From the words of his mouth,a man will enjoy good things,but treacherous people have an appetite for violence.
The violence of the wicked sweeps them awaybecause they refuse to act justly.
for their hearts plan violence,and their words stir up trouble.
The one who sends a message by a fool’s handcuts off his own feet and drinks violence.
They made His grave with the wickedand with a rich man at His death,although He had done no violenceand had not spoken deceitfully.
Violence will never again be heard of in your land;devastation and destructionwill be gone from your borders.But you will name your walls salvationand your gates, praise.
As a well gushes out its water,so she pours out her evil.Violence and destruction resound in her.Sickness and wounds keep coming to My attention.
For whenever I speak, I cry out,I proclaim, “Violence and destruction!”because the word of the Lord has become for meconstant disgrace and derision.
says the inhabitant of Zion;“Let the violence done to me and my family be done to Babylon.Let my blood be on the inhabitants of Chaldea,”says Jerusalem.
May you not become cowardly and fearfulwhen the report is proclaimed in the land,for the report will come one year,and then another the next year.There will be violence in the landwith ruler against ruler.
