'Order' in the Bible

His God teaches him order;He instructs him.

They set out to go down to Egyptwithout asking My advice,in order to seek shelter under Pharaoh’s protectionand take refuge in Egypt’s shadow.

In those days Hezekiah became terminally ill. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz came and said to him, “This is what the Lord says: ‘Put your affairs in order, for you are about to die; you will not recover.’”

the One great in counsel and mighty in deed, whose eyes are on all the ways of the sons of men in order to give to each person according to his ways and the result of his deeds.

This is what the Lord says: If I do not keep My covenant with the day and with the night and fail to establish the fixed order of heaven and earth,

All the officials and people who entered into covenant to free their male and female slaves—in order not to enslave them any longer—obeyed and freed them.

As for those who disobeyed My covenant, not keeping the terms of the covenant they made before Me, I will treat them like the calf they cut in two in order to pass between its pieces.

They left, stopping in Geruth Chimham, which is near Bethlehem, in order to make their way into Egypt,

It had been plantedin a good field by abundant watersin order to produce branches,bear fruit, and become a splendid vine.

so the kingdom might be humble and not exalt itself but might keep his covenant in order to endure.

When they made every firstborn pass through the fire, I defiled them through their gifts in order to devastate them so they would know that I am Yahweh.

The Lord says:I will not relent from punishing the Ammonitesfor three crimes, even four,because they ripped openthe pregnant women of Gileadin order to enlarge their territory.

And I brought you from the land of Egyptand led you 40 years in the wildernessin order to possess the land of the Amorite.

Then he issued a decree in Nineveh:By order of the king and his nobles: No man or beast, herd or flock, is to taste anything at all. They must not eat or drink water.

The Lord has issued an order concerning you:There will be no offspringto carry on your name.I will eliminate the carved idol and cast imagefrom the house of your gods;I will prepare your grave,for you are contemptible.

Woe to him who gives his neighbors drink,pouring out your wrathand even making them drunk,in order to look at their nakedness!

Therefore, wait for Me—this is the Lord’s declaration—until the day I rise up for plunder.For My decision is to gather nations,to assemble kingdoms,in order to pour out My indignation on them,all My burning anger;for the whole earth will be consumedby the fire of My jealousy.

On that day every prophet will be ashamed of his vision when he prophesies; they will not put on a hairy cloak in order to deceive.

When Jesus saw large crowds around Him, He gave the order to go to the other side of the sea.

There He saw a man who had a paralyzed hand. And in order to accuse Him they asked Him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”

Then it says, ‘I’ll go back to my house that I came from.’ And returning, it finds the house vacant, swept, and put in order.

In order to accuse Him, they were watching Him closely to see whether He would heal him on the Sabbath.

He also said to them, “You completely invalidate God’s command in order to maintain your tradition!

Then He ordered them to tell no one, but the more He would order them, the more they would proclaim it.

And returning, it finds the house swept and put in order.

They asked this to trap Him, in order that they might have evidence to accuse Him.Jesus stooped down and started writing on the ground with His finger.

Jesus said, “I came into this world for judgment, in order that those who do not see will see and those who do see will become blind.”

“Didn’t we strictly order you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to bring this man’s blood on us!”

Receiving such an order, he put them into the inner prison and secured their feet in the stocks.

Now I want you to know, brothers, that I often planned to come to you (but was prevented until now) in order that I might have a fruitful ministry among you, just as among the rest of the Gentiles.

What should we say then? Should we continue in sin so that grace may multiply?

Therefore we were buried with Him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in a new way of life.

in order that the law’s requirement would be accomplished in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

Each one of us must please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.

My aim is to evangelize where Christ has not been named, so that I will not build on someone else’s foundation,

in order that, as it is written: The one who boasts must boast in the Lord.

Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who comes from God, so that we may understand what has been freely given to us by God.

and with every unrighteous deception among those who are perishing. They perish because they did not accept the love of the truth in order to be saved.

also said in another passage, You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.

and He was declared by God a high priest in the order of Melchizedek.

Jesus has entered there on our behalf as a forerunner, because He has become a high priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.

If then, perfection came through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the law), what further need was there for another priest to appear, said to be in the order of Melchizedek and not in the order of Aaron?

For it has been testified:You are a priest foreverin the order of Melchizedek.

And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works,

in order to live the remaining time in the flesh, no longer for human desires, but for God’s will.
