                                    1 Seeing, indeed, that, many, had taken in hand to re-arrange for themselves a narrative, concerning the facts which have been fully confirmed amongst us, -                                

                                    1 Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us,

                                    6 Now they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and righteous appointments of the Lord, blameless;

                                    14 And there shall be joy to thee and exulting, and, many, over his birth, shall rejoice;

                                    15 For he will be great in the sight of the Lord; and he will (V)drink no wine or liquor, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit (m)while yet in his mother’s womb.

                                    16 And, many of the Sons of Israel, shall he turn towards the Lord their God;

                                    17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.                                

                                    17 It is he who will (X)go as a forerunner before Him in the spirit and power of (Y)Elijah, (Z)to turn the hearts of the fathers back to the children, and the disobedient to the attitude of the righteous, so as to (AA)make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”                                

                                    17 And he will go before Himin the spirit and power of Elijah,to turn the hearts of fathersto their children,(R)and the disobedientto the understanding of the righteous,to make ready for the Lord a prepared people.(S)                                 

                                    17 He is the one who will go before the Lord with the spirit and power of Elijah to turn the hearts of parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous, and to prepare the people to be ready for the Lord."

                                    18 And Zachariah said unto the messenger - Whereby, shall I know this? for, I, am, aged, and, my wife, advanced in her days.                                

                                    18 And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.                                

                                    18 Zacharias said to the angel, “How will I know this for certain? For (AB)I am an old man and my wife is advanced in (n)years.”                                

                                    18 “How can I know this?” Zechariah asked the angel. “For I am an old man, and my wife is well along in years.”(h)                                 

                                    18 Then Zechariah asked the angel, "How can I be sure of this, since I am an old man, and my wife is getting older?"

                                    19 And the messenger, answering, said unto him - I, am Gabriel, - he that standeth near before God; and have been sent forth to speak unto thee, and to deliver the joyful message unto thee, as touching these things.                                

                                    19 And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.                                

                                    19 The angel answered and said to him, “I am (AC)Gabriel, who (o)(AD)stands in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news.                                

                                    19 The angel answered him, “I am Gabriel,(T) who stands in the presence of God,(U) and I was sent to speak to you and tell you this good news.

                                    20 And lo! thou shalt be silent, and not able to speak until the day when these things shall come to pass; because thou didst not believe in my words, - the which shall be fulfilled for their season.                                

                                    20 And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.                                

                                    20 And behold, you shall be silent and unable to speak until the day when these things take place, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their proper time.”                                

                                    20 Now listen! You will become silent and unable to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their proper time.”                                 

                                    20 But because you did not believe my announcement, which will be fulfilled at its proper time, you will become silent and unable to speak until the day this happens."

                                    21 And the people were expecting Zachariah, and began to marvel that he should tarry in the Temple;                                

                                    21 And the people waited for Zacharias, and marvelled that he tarried so long in the temple.

                                    34 But Mary said unto the messenger - How, shall this thing be, seeing that, a man, I know not?

                                    35 And answering, the messenger said unto her - The Holy Spirit, shall come upon thee, and, the power of the Most High, shall overshadow thee; wherefore, even that which is to be born, Holy, shall be called, Son of God.                                

                                    35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.                                

                                    35 The angel answered and said to her, “(AR)The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of (AS)the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason (AT)the (y)holy Child shall be called (AU)the Son of God.                                

                                    35 The angel replied to her:“The Holy Spirit will come upon you,(AI)and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.Therefore, the holy One to be bornwill be called the Son of God.(AJ)                                 

                                    35 The angel answered her, "The Holy Spirit will come over you, and the power of the Most High will surround you. Therefore, the child will be holy and will be called the Son of God.

                                    36 And lo! Elizabeth thy kinswoman, even she, hath conceived a son in, her old-age; - and, this month, is, the sixth, to her, the so-called barren one;                                

                                    36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.                                

                                    36 And behold, even your relative Elizabeth has also conceived a son in her old age; and (z)she who was called barren is now in her sixth month.                                

                                    36 And consider your relative Elizabeth—even she has conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month for her who was called childless.                                 

                                    36 And listen! Elizabeth, your relative, has herself conceived a son in her old age, this woman who was rumored to be barren is in her sixth month.

                                    38 And Mary said, “Behold, the (ab)bondslave of the Lord; may it be done to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.                                

                                    38 “I am the Lord’s slave,”(k) said Mary. “May it be done to me according to your word.” Then the angel left her.                                 

                                    38 Then Mary said, "Truly I am the Lord's servant. Let everything you have said happen to me." Then the angel left her.
