For the promise that he should be heir of the world was not given to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law: but through the righteousness which cometh of faith. For if they which are of the law be heirs, then is faith but vain, and the promise of none effect.

Now is there no Jew, neither gentile, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither man nor woman: but ye are all one thing in Christ Jesus. If ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs by promise.

And these all, through faith, obtained good report, and received not the promise;

And when ye be come into the land which the LORD will give you according as he hath promised, see that ye keep this service.

Wherefore the Levites have no part nor inheritance with their brethren. The LORD he is their inheritance, as the LORD thy God hath promised them.

Seeing that we have such promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, and grow up to full holiness in the fear of God.

And for this cause is he the mediator of the new testament, that through death which chanced for the redemption of those transgressions that were in the first testament, they which were called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

By faith he removed into the land that was promised him, as into a strange country, and dwelt in tabernacles: and so did Isaac, and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise.

Of whom it was said, "In Isaac shall thy seed be called."

And these all, through faith, obtained good report, and received not the promise;

Happy is the man that endureth in temptation, for when he is tried he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

by the means whereof are given unto us excellent and most great promises; that by the help of them ye should be partakers of the godly nature, in that ye flee the corruption of worldly lust.

and say, "Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers died all things continue in the same estate wherein they were at the beginning."

And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
