When Hushai the Arkite the friend of David came to Absalom, Hushai said to Absalom, "[Long] live the king, [long] live the king!"
so that you may revere Yahweh your God by keeping all his statutes and his commandments that I [am] commanding you, you and your children and {grandchildren}, all the days of your life and so you may live long [lives].
Then he brought out the son of the king, put the crown on him with the testimony, and they made him king, anointed him, clapped [their] hands, and said, "[Long] live the king!"

I in turn have lent him to Yahweh. {As long as he lives} he [is] lent to Yahweh." Then they worshiped Yahweh there.
Please forgive the transgression of your female servant, because Yahweh will certainly make a lasting house for my lord, because my lord [is] fighting the battles of Yahweh, and evil will not be found in you {as long as you live}.

And David lived in the fortress. Therefore they called it the city of David.
And the families of the scribes who lived [at] Jabez: the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and the Sucathites. These [were] the Kenites who came from Hammath, the father of the house of Recab.
These [were] the potters and inhabitants of Netaim and Gederah. They lived there with the king in his service.
And they destroyed the remainder of the Amalekites who had escaped, and they have lived there to this day.
