in order to confirm these days of Purim in their set times, according as Mordecai the Jew and Esther the queen had ordered them, and as they had decreed for themselves and for their seed the matters of the fastings and of their cry.

For Mordecai the Jew was next to King Ahasuerus and great among the Jews, and pleasing to the multitude of his brothers, seeking the wealth of his people and speaking peace to all his seed.

Let the stars of its twilight be dark; let it look for light, but have none. Let it not see the eyelids of the dawn.

or as a hidden untimely birth I would not have been, like infants who did not see light.

I have seen the fool taking root, but suddenly I cursed his dwelling place.

And you shall know that your seed will be numerous, and your offspring as the grass of the earth.
