This happened so that the words which he had spoken would be fulfilled, "Of those whom you gave me I have lost none."
Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple. As this disciple was known to the high priest, he went with Jesus into the courtyard of the high priest.
Then the girl who kept the door said to Peter, "You are not also one of this man's disciples, are you?" He said, "I am not."
And when he had said this, one of the officers standing by struck Jesus with his hand, saying, "Is that the way you answer the high priest?"
So Pilate went out to them and said, "What accusation do you bring against this man?"
This happened so that the words Jesus had spoken would be fulfilled, showing by what death he was going to die.
Jesus answered, "Do you say this on your own, or did others say it to you about me?"
Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now my kingship is not from here."
Pilate said to him, "You are a king then?" Jesus answered, "You say what I ama king. For this I was born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice."
Pilate said to him, "What is truth?" After he had said this, he went out to the Jews again, and told them, "I find no crime in him.
Then they all cried again, "Not this man, but Barabbas!" Now Barabbas was a robber.
From then on Pilate sought to release him, but the Jews cried out, "If you let this man go, you are not Caesar's friend. Anyone who makes himself a king sets himself against Caesar."
Many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin.
The chief priests of the Jews then said to Pilate, "Do not write, 'The King of the Jews,' but, 'This man said, I am King of the Jews.'"
So they said to one another, "Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be." This happened that the Scripture might be fulfilled which says: "They divided my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots." This is what the soldiers did.
After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, "I thirst."
After this Josnt of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly, for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus, and Pilate gave him permission. So he came and took away his body.
Saying this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not know that it was Jesus.

This is the disciple who testifies to these things, and who wrote these things; and we know that his testimony is true.
So when they had come together, they asked him, "Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?"
And after he had said this, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.
They also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched him go into heaven."
For he was counted among us and received his share in this ministry."
(Now this man bought a field with the reward of his wickedness; and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his intestines gushed out.

And at this sound the crowd came together, and they were bewildered, because each one heard them speaking in his own language.

And he testified with many other words and exhorted them, saying, "Save yourselves from this perverse generation."
And when Peter saw this he addressed the people, "Men of Israel, why do you wonder at this, or why do you stare at us, as if by our own power or piety we had made him walk?
but killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses.
And his name, by faith in his name, has made this man strong whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Jesus has given him perfect health in the presence of you all.
And when they had set them in the midst, they began to inquire, "By what power or by what name did you do this?"
if we are being examined today for a good deed done to a cripple, as to how this man has been healed,
be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by him this man stands before you healed.
But in order that it may spread no further among the people, let us warn them to speak no longer to any one in this name."
For the man on whom this sign of healing was performed was more than forty years old.
And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God together and said, "Sovereign Lord, it is you who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything in them,
For truly in this city there were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,

"Go, stand and speak to the people in the temple the whole message of this Life."
