Put on therefore, as the elect of God holy and beloved, bowels of mercy, benignity, humbleness of mind, meekness, long-suffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if any one has a complaint against any: even as Christ hath forgiven you, so also do ye.

Take heed to yourselves: if thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times a day, and seven times in a day return to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

Then Peter came to Him and said, Lord, how often shall my brother offend against me, and I forgive him? to seven times? Jesus answereth him, I tell thee not, to seven times, but to seventy times seven.

Take heed to yourselves: if thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times a day, and seven times in a day return to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

Then said He to the disciples, It is impossible that offences should not come: but wo to him by whom they come. It were better for him that a milstone were hung about his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should cause one of these little ones to offend. But will he not rather say to him, Get ready my supper, and gird thyself, and wait upon me, till I have done, and afterwards thou shalt eat and drink. Is he obliged to that servant for doing what he was ordered? I think not. So likewise ye, when ye have done all things that were commanded you, say we are unprofitable servants, for we have done only what we ought to do.
