But this I say, He who sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly, and he who sows in blessings shall also reap blessings. Each one according as they purpose in their heart, so let them give, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

Blessed is he that understands regarding the poor; the LORD will deliver him in the day of evil.

There are those who scatter, and more is added unto them; and there are those who withhold more than is just, but come to poverty. The soul who is a blessing unto others shall be made fat, and he that fills shall be filled also himself. He that withholds the grain, the people shall curse him, but blessing shall be upon the head of him that sells it.

He that gives unto the poor lends unto the LORD, and he will give him his reward.

He that gives unto the poor shall never lack, but he that hides his eyes from the poor shall have many a curse.

Let us, therefore, not judge one another any more, but judge this rather: that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.

Judge not, that ye be not judged.

Therefore, thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest; for in that which thou dost judge another, thou dost condemn thyself; for thou that judgest others doest the same things.

Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? By his own master he stands or falls; and if he falls, he shall be made to stand, for God is powerful to make him stand.

Therefore, judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall each one have praise of God.

Jesus said unto him, If thou desire to be perfect, go and sell what thou hast and give it to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come and follow me.

Thou shalt surely give unto him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him because for this thing the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thy works and in all that thou puttest thine hand to. But rather love ye your enemies and do good and lend, hoping for nothing again, and your reward shall be great; and ye shall be the sons of the Most High, for he is kind even unto the unthankful and to the evil.

Then said he also to him that invited him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen nor thy rich neighbours, lest they also invite thee again, and a recompense be made thee. But when thou makest a banquet, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind, and thou shalt be blessed, for they cannot recompense thee; for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.

And why dost thou behold the mote that is in thy brother's eye but dost not consider the beam that is in thine own eye?

And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves; for charity shall cover a multitude of sins.

He that covers a transgression seeks love, but he that repeats a matter separates very friends.

We then that are stronger ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not please ourselves.

He that has a merciful eye shall be blessed, for he gives of his bread to the destitute.

But whosoever has this world's goods and sees his brother have need and shuts up his bowels of compassion from him, how does the charity of God abide in him?

bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Charity is never lost, but prophecies shall come to an end, tongues shall cease, and knowledge shall come to an end. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. Therefore, when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They already have their reward.

And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfection.

Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart and of a good conscience and of faith unfeigned:

For in the manner that we have many members in one body, nevertheless all the members do not have the same operation; likewise many of us are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. So that having different gifts according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, according to the measure of faith; read more.

But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth that thine alms may be in secret; and thy Father who sees in secret, he shall reward thee openly.
