But refuse to put younger widows on the list, for when they feel sensual desires in disregard of Christ, they want to marry,

But I say to you that every one who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural.

For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that is, that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to take his own spouse for himself in holiness and honor,

For speaking out arrogant words of vanity, they entice by fleshly desires, by sensuality, those who barely escape from the ones who live in error.

Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience, desiring to live honorably in all things.

But sin, finding opportunity by the commandment, produced in me all kinds of covetous desire. For apart from the law sin lies dead.

And if you had known what this means, 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the guiltless.

But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and he himself does not tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own desire. Then when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is full-grown, it brings forth death.

But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

First of all you must understand this, that scoffers will come in the last days, with scoffing, following their own lusts

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

Among them we all once lived in the lusts of our flesh, following the desires of flesh and mind, and so we were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.

Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy. Now you are the body of Christ, and individually members of it. And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, then those having gifts of healings, helps, administrations, and those speaking in various kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?read more.
Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But earnestly desire the greater gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way.

Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: "Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; in burnt offerings and sin offerings you have taken no pleasure. It is a trustworthy saying: if any one aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task.

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh, you are in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. And do this, knowing the hour, that now it is full time for you to wake from sleep. For now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far gone, the day is at hand. Let us then cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in reveling and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in quarreling and jealousy.read more.
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger, for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct;

Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against your soul.

Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, so as to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human lusts, but for the will of God. In all this, they are surprised that you do not run with them into the same flood of dissipation, and they abuse you; but they will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh; for these are opposed to each other, so that you may not do what you would.

For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will to do what is good, but I cannot do it.
