It is written in the prophets, And they shall all be taught of God. Every man therefore that has heard from the Father and has learned comes unto me.
And all thy sons shall be taught of the LORD; and the peace of thy sons shall be multiplied.
For I am the LORD your God; ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy; neither shall ye defile your souls with any reptile that moves upon the earth. For I am the LORD that causes you to come up out of the land of Egypt to be your God; ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. But Jesus said unto him, Follow me, and let the dead bury their dead.
Speak unto all the congregation of the sons of Israel and say unto them, Ye shall be holy, for I the LORD your God am holy.
Be ye therefore imitators of God, as dear children and walk in charity even as the Christ also has loved us and has given himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour.
And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they not be unfruitful.
but as he who has called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; for it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
Nun Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and humble of heart, and ye shall find rest for your souls.
For I have given you an example that ye should do as I have done to you.
learn to do good; seek judgment; restore unto the oppressed; hear the fatherless in right judgment; protect the widow.
But ye have not so learned of the Christ, if so be that ye have heard him and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus,
And that he died for all that those who live should not live from now on unto themselves, but unto him who died and rose again for them.
With my soul I desire thee in the night; yea, even as long as the spirit is within me I will seek thee early: for as long as thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus,
For none of us live for ourselves, and no one dies for himself. For if we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord; whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
And he said unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
Because for this were ye called: for the Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps
so that now the time that remains in the flesh, he might live, not unto the lusts of men, but unto the will of God.
He that says he abides in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
So after he had washed their feet and had taken his garments and had sat down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? Ye call me Master and Lord; and ye say well, for so I am. If I then, the Lord and the Master, have washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another's feet.read more.
For I have given you an example that ye should do as I have done to you. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The slave is not greater than his lord; neither is the apostle greater than he that sent him. If ye know these things, ye shall be blessed if ye do them.
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all the things that I have said unto you.
As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; abide in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love, even as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken unto you that my joy may abide in you and that your joy might be fulfilled.read more.
This is my commandment, That ye love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his soul for his friends. Ye are my friends if ye do whatsoever I command you.
for the Holy Spirit shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth, for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak, and he will cause you to know the things which are to come.
He that loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and he that loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that does not take his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me. He that finds his life shall lose it, and he that loses his life for my sake shall find it.
And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father. Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead, but go thou and declare the kingdom of God.
Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but with doctrine of the Holy Spirit, jointly fitting spiritual things by spiritual means.
Then Jesus said unto his disciples, If anyone will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whosoever desires to save his life shall lose it, and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
And as Jesus passed forth from there, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom; and he said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him;
And calling the multitude unto him with his disciples, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.
And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.
that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man, that the Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith, that ye, being rooted and grounded in charity, may be able to well comprehend with all saints what is the breadth and length and depth and heightread more.
and to know the charity of the Christ, which passes all knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.
And he said to them all, If anyone will come after me, let them deny themself and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whosoever desires to save his soul shall lose it, but whosoever will lose his soul for my sake, the same shall save it.
Unto whom it was revealed that not unto themselves, but unto us they did administer the things, which are now announced unto you by those that have preached the gospel unto you by the Holy Spirit sent down from heaven, which things the angels desire to look into.
Jesus said unto him, If thou desire to be perfect, go and sell what thou hast and give it to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come and follow me.
Those things, which ye have both learned and received and heard and seen in me, do, and the God of peace shall be with you.
If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brethren and sisters, and even his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever does not bear his cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.
Then Jesus beholding him loved him and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go, sell all that thou hast and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross , and follow me taking up thy stake (if thy desire is to be perfect).
The day that thou didst stand before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather the people together unto me, and I will make them hear my words that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth and that they may teach their sons.
Now when Jesus heard this, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.
that ye put off everything concerning the old way of life, that is, the old man who corrupts himself according to deceitful desires, and be renewed in the spirit of your understanding and that ye put on the new man, which is created in conformity to God in righteousness and in the holiness of the truth.
Gather the people together, men and women and children and thy strangers that are within thy gates, that they may hear and that they may learn and fear the LORD your God and observe to do all the words of this law,
This he spoke, signifying by what death he should clarify God. And when he had spoken this, he said unto him, Follow me.
And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes, that in us ye might not learn above that which is written, lest because of one, some of you become puffed up against others.
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father who is in the heavens is perfect.
And he that does not take his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me.
Then Jesus said unto his disciples, If anyone will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
Be ye imitators of me, even as I also am of Christ.
For unto those whom he knew beforehand, he also marked out beforehand the way that they might be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
And calling the multitude unto him with his disciples, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
Therefore, I beseech you brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies in living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing unto God, which is your rational worship. And be not conformed to this age, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your soul that ye may experience what is that good and well pleasing and perfect will of God.
And he said to them all, If anyone will come after me, let them deny themself and take up their cross daily and follow me.
But be clothed with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not listen to the flesh, to fulfil its desires.
Therefore we all, beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord with uncovered face, are transformed from glory to glory into the same likeness, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let those learn first to govern their house in piety and to recompense their parents, for this is honest and pleasing before God.
But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and in that which has been entrusted unto thee, knowing of whom thou hast learned them,
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
If anyone serves me, let them follow me; and where I am, there shall my servant be also; the one that serves me, will my Father honour.
according as he has chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blemish before him in charity;
These are those who are not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are those who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These are redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
whom we preach, warning every man and teaching in all wisdom that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus,
Clothed, therefore, (as the elect of God, holy and beloved) with bowels of mercies, with kindness, with humility, with meekness, with tolerance,
But Jesus called them unto him and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and those that are great wield power over them. But it shall not be so among you, but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; and whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your slave,read more.
even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister and to give his life a ransom for many.
But Jesus, calling unto them, said unto them, Ye know that those who are seen to be princes among the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those that are great among them wield power over them. But it shall not be like this among you, for whosoever desires to make himself great among you shall be your servant; and whosoever of you that desires to be first shall be slave of all.read more.
For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to serve and to give his life in ransom for many.
as obedient sons, not conforming yourselves with the former desires that you had before in your ignorance, but as he who has called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
not slothful in earnest care, but fervent in the Spirit, serving the Lord,
Ye also, giving all diligence to the same, show forth virtue in your faith; and in virtue, knowledge; and in knowledge, temperance; and in temperance, patience; and in patience, fear of God; and in fear of God, brotherly love; and in brotherly love, charity.
For they themselves tell of us what an entrance we had unto you and in what manner ye were converted to God from idols to serve the living and true God
Beloved, now we are the sons of God, and it is not yet made manifest what we shall be; but we know that if he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every one that has this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a prince of the Jews; the same came to Jesus by night and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that thou doest unless God is with him.
He that has my commandments and keeps them, he it is that loves me; and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him and will manifest myself to him.
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love, even as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.
For this is the charity of God, that we keep his commandments, and his commandments are not grievous.
And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and, behold, I am with you always even unto the end of the age. Amen.
Ye are the light of the world. A city set upon a mountain cannot be hid. Neither do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on the lampstand, and it gives light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in the heavens.
And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers, for the perfecting of the saints in the work of the ministry, unto the edifying of the body of the Christ until we all come forth in the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the coming of age of the Christ:read more.
That we no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men and cunning craftiness, by which they lie in wait to deceive, but following the truth in charity, let us grow up into him in all things, who is the head, the Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and well tied together among itself by the nourishment that every connecting bond supplies, by the operation of each member according to measure they have received, making increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in charity. This I say, therefore, and require in the Lord that from now on ye not walk as the other Gentiles walk in the vanity of their own senses,
And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship and in breaking of bread and in prayers.
Then Jesus said to those Jews who had believed him, If ye abide in my word, ye shall be my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.
I AM the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he shall take away; and every one that bears fruit, he shall purge that they may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.read more.
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abides in the vine, no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I AM the vine, ye are the branches: he that abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit; for without me ye can do nothing. He who does not abide in me shall be cast forth as an unsound branch and shall wither, and they are gathered and cast into the fire and are burned. If ye abide in me and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall everyone know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

But speak thou the things which are expedient unto sound doctrine, that the aged men be temperate, venerable, prudent, sound in faith, in charity, in tolerance. The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becomes holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of honesty;read more.
that they may teach the young women to be prudent, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be temperate, chaste, good housekeepers, subject to their own husbands, that the word of God not be blasphemed. Young men likewise exhort to be temperate; in all things showing thyself as an example of good works, in doctrine showing integrity, seriousness, purity, sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that the adversary may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
And it came to pass that as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the heaven have nests, but the Son of man has not where to lay his head. And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father.read more.
Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead, but go thou and declare the kingdom of God. And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee, but let me first go bid farewell those who are at home at my house.
