For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and wickedness of men who by their wickedness suppress the truth, for what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world his invisible nature, even his eternal power and deity, has been clearly seen, being understood by the things that have been made. So they are without excuse;
When Gentiles, who have not the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts accusing or else excusing them
All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
But he said, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!"
But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves.
"I have manifested your name to the men whom you have given me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me, and they have kept your word.
I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word, and have not denied my name.
Epaphras, who is one of your number, a servant of Jesus Christ, sends you his greetings, always laboring earnestly for you in his prayers, that you may stand mature and fully assured in all the will of God.
If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you.read more.
No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you. If anyone thinks he is a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that what I am writing to you is the Lord's command.
For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.
Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. For even Christ did not please himself; but, as it is written, "The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me."
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that through his poverty you might become rich.
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
But I say to you that anyone who is angry with his brother shall be subject to judgment. And whoever says to his brother, 'Raca,' shall be answerable to the council. But whoever says, 'You fool!' shall be in danger of the fire of hell.
He who believes in him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of himself, but only what he sees the Father doing; for whatever he does, the Son also does.
He who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will condemn him on the last day. For I have not spoken on my own authority; but the Father who sent me gave me a command, what to say and what to speak.
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.
For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural. And the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in their own persons the due penalty for their error.
It is actually reported that there is immorality among you, and of a kind that does not occur even among pagans: a man has his father's wife.
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist have been instituted by God.
They said, "Caesar's." Then he said to them, "Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."
Jesus said to them, "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." And they were amazed at him.
He said to them, "Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."
Jesus answered, "You would have no power over me unless it had been given you from above. Therefore the one who delivered me to you has the greater sin."
Therefore he who resists the authority resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to have no fear of him who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will have praise from him. For he is God's servant to you for good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain; he is God's servant, an avenger to execute wrath on the wrongdoer.read more.
Therefore one must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for the sake of conscience.
Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the supreme authority, or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to praise those who do right.
Who at any time serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its fruit? Who tends a flock and does not drink of the milk?
Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
