and hath made of one blood every nation of men to dwell upon all the face of the earth, having determined the seasons before-appointed them, and the bounds of their habitation;
but I tell you, that of every idle word, which men shall speak, they shall give an account in the day of judgement; for by thy words thou shalt be justified,
For the time past of our life is sufficient for us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, walking in lasciviousness, inordinate desires, excess of wine, revellings, drunkenness, and abominable idolatries: in which they think it strange that ye run not with them into the same excess of riot, and therefore speak evil of you: who shall give an account to Him, who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

in which ye formerly walked after the manner of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that still operates in the children of disobedience: among whom also we were all conversant heretofore in our carnal desires, indulging the appetites of the flesh and of our imaginations; and were by nature children of wrath, even as others.
Mortify therefore your members that are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, disorderly passion, evil concupiscence, and insatiable desire, which is indeed idolatry: for which things the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience. In which ye also formerly walked, when ye lived among them.
Afterwards came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us: but he answered them, Verily I declare unto you, I do not know you.
When the master of the house shall have risen up and shut the door, and ye begin to stand without and knock at the door saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and He shall answer and say to you, I know you not, whence ye are:
and shall lay thee to the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another: because thou didst not regard the time of thy visitation.
And as he was reasoning of justice, temperance, and a future judgement, Felix trembled, and said, Go thy way for this time, and I will take a proper opportunity to call for thee again.
And I gave her time to repent of her fornication, and she repented not.
Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while the light is to be with you; walk while ye have the light, least darkness overtake you; for he that walketh in the dark knoweth not whither he goeth.
But this I say, brethren, that the time is short: it remains therefore, that even those, who have wives, be as though they had none; and they, that weep, as if they wept not; and they, that rejoice, as if they rejoiced not; and they, that buy, as if they possessed not; and they, that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away.
I must perform the works of Him that sent me, while it is day: the night is coming, when no man can work.
Come now, ye that say, To-day or to-morrow we will go to such a city, and spend a year there, and trade and get gain; (though ye know not what will be on the morrow; for what is your life? a vapor, which appeareth for a little while, and then vanisheth away:) whereas ye ought to say, If the Lord will, and we should live, and do this or that:
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent, and believe the gospel.
And we co-operating with Him do also exhort you that ye receive not the grace of God in vain: for He saith, "I have heard thee in an acceptable time, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee." Behold now is the acceptable time; behold now is the day of salvation.
And therefore as we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, but especially to those who are of the houshold of faith.
Therefore, as the holy Ghost saith, "To-day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness, when your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years:read more.
wherefore I was provoked with that generation, and said, They are always erring in their heart, and they have not known my ways: so I sware in my wrath, they shall not enter into my rest." Take heed, my brethren, least there be in any of you a wicked heart of unbelief in departing from the living God: but exhort one another daily, while it is called to-day; that none of you may be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin:
Now in those days, as the number of disciples increased, there rose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution. So the twelve called the multitude of the disciples to them and said, It is not seemly that we should leave the word of God and attend at tables. Wherefore, brethren, look out from among you seven men of good character, full of the holy Spirit, and of wisdom, whom we may appoint over this matter:read more.
but we will constantly attend to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
And in the morning, before it was light, He rose up and went out, and retired into a solitary place, and there prayed.
But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of this bread and drink of this cup:
For you pay them tribute also for this reason; because they are God's ministers, continually attending hereunto.
And He said to them, Come ye yourselves apart into a retired place, and rest a little: for there were many coming and going, and they had not time even to eat.
not covetous, governing his own family well, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
For I do not intend to see you now in my way, as I hope to stay some time with you, if the Lord permit.
And they continued stedfast in the apostles doctrine, and fellowship, and in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples were assembled together to break bread, Paul being about to depart on the morrow, preached unto them, and continued his discourse till midnight.
not forsaking our assemblies, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more as ye see the day approaching.
And Jesus said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art anxious and in a hurry about many things: but one thing is necessary. And Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these shall be superadded unto you.
Then Paul and Barnabas boldly said, It was necessary that the word of God should be first spoken to you; but since ye reject it, and judge not yourselves worthy of eternal life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles: for so the Lord hath commanded us, saying, "I have appointed thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation to the utmost part of the earth."
Now while Paul was waiting for them at Athens, his Spirit was greatly moved, when he saw the city wholly given up to idolatry. He therefore disputed in the synagogue with the Jews and other devout persons on the sabbath-day, and with whomsoever he met in public every day.
