They said, “If we have found favor in your sight, let this land be given to your servants as a possession. May the Lord Himself hold us accountable if we intended to offer burnt offerings and grain offerings on it, or to sacrifice fellowship offerings on it. Now as they were speaking to the people, the priests, the commander of the temple police, and the Sadducees confronted them, because they were provoked that they were teaching the people and proclaiming the resurrection from the dead, using Jesus as the example. So they seized them and put them in custody until the next day, since it was already evening.

For the Sadducees say there is no resurrection, and no angel or spirit, but the Pharisees affirm them all.
