But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.

In the fear of the LORD one has strong confidence, and his children will have a refuge.

Each will be like a hiding place from the wind, a shelter from the storm, like streams of water in a dry place, like the shade of a great rock in a weary land.

Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people, from this time forth and forevermore.

Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf.

Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.

No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you.

The war horse is a false hope for salvation, and by its great might it cannot rescue.

The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the LORD.

and said to him, "Run, say to that young man, 'Jerusalem shall be inhabited as villages without walls, because of the multitude of people and livestock in it. And I will be to her a wall of fire all around, declares the LORD, and I will be the glory in her midst.'"

Within her citadels God has made himself known as a fortress.

The king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.

And they came out with all their troops, a great horde, in number like the sand that is on the seashore, with very many horses and chariots. You would shame the plans of the poor, but the LORD is his refuge.

For he delivers the needy when he calls, the poor and him who has no helper. He has pity on the weak and the needy, and saves the lives of the needy. From oppression and violence he redeems their life, and precious is their blood in his sight.

But the Lord GOD helps me; therefore I have not been disgraced; therefore I have set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be put to shame.

If you return to the Almighty you will be built up; if you remove injustice far from your tents,

then the Almighty will be your gold and your precious silver.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you.

Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy,

The LORD is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.

Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.

O my Strength, I will watch for you, for you, O God, are my fortress. My God in his steadfast lovewill meet me; God will let me look in triumph on my enemies.
