'Again' in the Bible
But now that he is dead, why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I’ll go to him, but he will never return to me.”
“Whoever speaks to you,” the king said, “bring him to me. He will not trouble you again!”
Then Absalom sent for Joab in order to send him to the king, but Joab was unwilling to come. So he sent again, a second time, but he still wouldn’t come.
Amasa was not on guard against the sword in Joab’s hand, and Joab stabbed him in the stomach with it and spilled his intestines out on the ground. Joab did not stab him again for Amasa was dead. Joab and his brother Abishai pursued Sheba son of Bichri.

The Lord’s anger burned against Israel again, and He stirred up David against them to say: “Go, count the people of Israel and Judah.”
I will therefore do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has never been anyone like you before and never will be again.
Then she gave the king four and a half tons of gold, a great quantity of spices, and precious stones. Never again did such a quantity of spices arrive as those the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.
The king made the almug wood into steps for the Lord’s temple and the king’s palace and into lyres and harps for the singers. Never before had such almug wood come, and the like has not been seen again even to this very day.
After all this Jeroboam did not repent of his evil way but again set up priests for the high places from every class of people. He ordained whoever so desired it, and they became priests of the high places.

Again the watchman reported, “He reached them but hasn’t started back. Also, the driving is like that of Jehu son of Nimshi—he drives like a madman.”
The king had heard this about Tirhakah king of Cush: “Look, he has set out to fight against you.” So he again sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying,
The surviving remnant of the house of Israel will again take root downward and bear fruit upward.
I will never again cause the feet of the Israelites to wander from the land I gave to their ancestors if only they will be careful to do all I have commanded them—the whole law that My servant Moses commanded them.”
Now the king of Egypt did not march out of his land again, for the king of Babylon took everything that belonged to the king of Egypt, from the Brook of Egypt to the Euphrates River.
The first to live in their towns on their own property again were Israelites, priests, Levites, and temple servants.
Once again the Philistines raided in the valley.
So David again inquired of God, and God answered him, “Do not pursue them directly. Circle around them and attack them opposite the balsam trees.
I will establish a place for My people Israel and plant them, so that they may live there and not be disturbed again. Evildoers will not continue to oppress them as they formerly have

The Edomites came again, attacked Judah, and took captives.
I will never again remove the feet of the Israelites from the land where I stationed your ancestors, if only they will be careful to do all that I have commanded them through Moses—all the law, statutes, and judgments.”
But Yahweh, the God of their ancestors sent word against them by the hand of His messengers, sending them time and time again, for He had compassion on His people and on His dwelling place.
should we break Your commands again and intermarry with the peoples who commit these detestable practices? Wouldn’t You become so angry with us that You would destroy us, leaving no survivors?
When the Jews who lived nearby arrived, they said to us time and again, “Everywhere you turn, they attack us.”
But as soon as they had relief,they again did what was evil in Your sight.So You abandoned them to the power of their enemies,who dominated them.When they cried out to You again,You heard from heaven and rescued themmany times in Your compassion.
but I warned them, “Why are you camping in front of the wall? If you do it again, I’ll use force against you.” After that they did not come again on the Sabbath.

You caused me to experiencemany troubles and misfortunes,but You will revive me again.You will bring me up again,even from the depths of the earth.
“Will the Lord reject foreverand never again show favor?
Will You not revive us againso that Your people may rejoice in You?
for justice will again be righteous,and all the upright in heart will follow it.
You set a boundary they cannot cross;they will never cover the earth again.
Let hot coals fall on them.Let them be thrown into the fire,into the abyss, never again to rise.
A person with great anger bears the penalty;if you rescue him, you’ll have to do it again.
All the streams flow to the sea,yet the sea is never full.The streams are flowing to the place,and they flow there again.

For the Lord will have compassion on Jacob and will choose Israel again. He will settle them on their own land. The foreigner will join them and be united with the house of Jacob.
The watchman said,“Morning has come, and also night.If you want to ask, ask!Come back again.”
Pick up your lyre,stroll through the city,prostitute forgotten by men.Play skillfully,sing many a song,and you will be thought of again.
The earth staggers like a drunkardand sways like a hut.Earth’s rebellion weighs it down,and it falls, never to rise again.

Since the day your ancestors came out of the land of Egypt until this day, I have sent all My servants the prophets to you time and time again.
“You are to say to them: This is what the Lord says:Do people fall and not get up again?If they turn away, do they not return?
My tent is destroyed;all my tent cords are snapped.My sons have departed from me and are no more.I have no one to pitch my tent againor to hang up my curtains.
For I strongly warned your ancestors when I brought them out of the land of Egypt until today, warning them time and time again, ‘Obey My voice.’
After I have uprooted them, I will once again have compassion on them and return each one to his inheritance and to his land.
and you are to proclaim to them: This is what the Lord of Hosts says: I will shatter these people and this city, like one shatters a potter’s jar that can never again be mended. They will bury the dead in Topheth because there is no other place for burials.
Do not weep for the dead;do not mourn for him.Weep bitterly for the one who has gone away,for he will never return againand see his native land.
For this is what the Lord says concerning Shallum son of Josiah, king of Judah, who became king in place of his father Josiah: “He has left this place—he will never return here again,

This is what the Lord says:Record this man as childless,a man who will not be successful in his lifetime.None of his descendants will succeedin sitting on the throne of Davidor ruling again in Judah.
“From the thirteenth year of Josiah son of Amon, king of Judah, until this very day—23 years—the word of the Lord has come to me, and I have spoken to you time and time again, but you have not obeyed.
The Lord sent all His servants the prophets to you time and time again, but you have not obeyed or even paid attention.
“Then you are to say to them: This is what the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: Drink, get drunk, and vomit. Fall down and never get up again, as a result of the sword I am sending among you.
and by listening to the words of My servants the prophets I have been sending you time and time again, though you did not listen,
‘They will be brought to Babylon and will remain there until I attend to them again.’ This is the Lord’s declaration. ‘Then I will bring them up and restore them to this place.’”
