'Old' in the Bible

When Noah {was five hundred years old}, Noah fathered Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Noah {was six hundred years old} when the flood waters came upon the earth.

These are the generations of Shem. When Shem {was one hundred years old}, he fathered Arphaxad, two years after the flood.

And Abram went [out] as Yahweh had told him, and Lot went with him. Now Abram {was seventy-five years old} when he went out from Haran.

And Abram [was] eighty-six years old when Hagar bore Ishmael to Abram.

Abraham [was] ninety-nine years old when he circumcised the flesh of his foreskin.

And Ishmael his son [was] thirteen years old when he circumcised the flesh of his foreskin.

So Sarah laughed to herself saying, "After I am worn out and my husband is old, shall [this] pleasure be to me?"

Then Yahweh said to Abraham, "What [is] this [that] Sarah laughed, saying, 'Is it indeed true [that] I will bear a child, now [that] I have grown old?'

Before they laid down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both young and old, all the people {to the last man}, surrounded the house.

And the firstborn [daughter] said to the younger one, "Our father is old, and there is no man in the land to come in to us according to the manner of all the land.

And Abraham circumcised Isaac his son [when he was] eight days old, as God had commanded him.

And Abraham [was] one hundred years old when Isaac his son was born to him.

And she said, "Who would announce to Abraham [that] Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne a son [to Abraham] in his old age."

And Sarah, the wife of my master, has borne a son to my master after her old age. And he has given to him all that he has.

And Abraham passed away and died in a good old age, old and full of years. And he was gathered to his people.

And Isaac was {forty years old} when he took Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel the Aramean of Paddan-Aram, the sister of Laban the Aramean, as his wife.

And afterward his brother came out, and his hand grasped the heel of Esau, so his name was called Jacob. And Isaac {was sixty years old} at their birth.

And [when] Esau was forty years old he took as wife Judith, daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Basemath, daughter of Elon the Hittite.

And it happened [that] when Isaac [was] old and {his eyesight was weak}, he called Esau his older son and said to him, "My son." And he said to him, "Here I [am]."

And Isaac passed away and died, and was gathered to his people, old and full of days. And his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.

These [are] the generations of Jacob. Joseph, [being] seventeen years old, was shepherding the flock with his brothers. Now he [was] a helper with the sons of Bilhah and the sons of Zilpah, the wives of his father. And Joseph brought a bad report of them to his father.

Now Joseph {was thirty years old} when he stood before Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh and traveled through the whole land of Egypt.

And {he greeted them} and said, "Is your father well, the old man of whom you spoke? Is he still alive?"

And we said to my lord, 'We have an aged father, and a younger [brother], the child of his old age, and his brother died, and he alone remains from his mother, and his father loves him.'

Then Pharaoh said to Jacob, "{How old are you}?"

Now the eyes of Israel were dim on account of old age; he was not able to see. So he brought them near to him, and he kissed them and embraced them.

So Joseph died, [being] one hundred and ten years old. They embalmed him and he was placed in a coffin in Egypt.

(And Moses [was] {eighty years old}, and Aaron [was] {eighty-three years old} when they spoke to Pharaoh.)

And Moses said, "With our young and with our old we will go; with our sons and with our daughters, with our sheep and goats and with our cattle we will go because [it is] the feast of Yahweh for us."

Turn back, my daughters! Go, for {I am too old to have a husband}. If I should think there is hope for me, even if I should have a husband [this] night, and even if I should bear sons,

He shall be for you a restorer of life and a sustainer in your old age, for your daughter-in-law who loves you, who [is] better for you than seven sons, has borne him."

Now Eli was very old, and he heard all that his sons were doing to all Israel and that they [were] having sexual relations with the women who [were] serving [at] the entrance of [the] tent of assembly.

Look, days [are] coming when I will cut off your {strength} and the {strength} of the house of your ancestor {so that no one in your house will live to old age}.

You will look at the distress of my dwelling place, [despite] all the good caused for Israel, but there will never be an old [man] in your household {forever}!

Now Eli [was] {ninety-eight years old} and his eyes {stayed fixed ahead} and he was not able to see.
