'Generation' in the Bible
The Lord said to Noah, "Come into the ark, you and all your household, for I consider you godly among this generation.
In the fourth generation your descendants will return here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its limit."
Joseph saw the descendants of Ephraim to the third generation. He also saw the children of Makir the son of Manasseh; they were given special inheritance rights by Joseph.
and in time Joseph and his brothers and all that generation died.
God also said to Moses, "You must say this to the Israelites, 'The Lord -- the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob -- has sent me to you. This is my name forever, and this is my memorial from generation to generation.'

But you, O Lord, reign forever; your throne endures from generation to generation.
"How great are his signs! How mighty are his wonders! His kingdom will last forever, and his authority continues from one generation to the next."
But at the end of the appointed time I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up toward heaven, and my sanity returned to me. I extolled the Most High, and I praised and glorified the one who lives forever. For his authority is an everlasting authority, and his kingdom extends from one generation to the next.
Tell your children about it, have your children tell their children, and their children the following generation.
But Judah will reside securely forever, and Jerusalem will be secure from one generation to the next.
