'Lord' in the Bible

You who love the Lord, hate evil!He protects the lives of His godly ones;He rescues them from the power of the wicked.

Be glad in Yahweh, you righteous ones,and praise His holy name.

A psalm.Sing a new song to the Lord,for He has performed wonders;His right hand and holy armhave won Him victory.

The Lord has made His victory known;He has revealed His righteousnessin the sight of the nations.

Shout to the Lord, all the earth;be jubilant, shout for joy, and sing.

With trumpets and the blast of the ram’s hornshout triumphantlyin the presence of the Lord, our King.

before the Lord,for He is coming to judge the earth.He will judge the world righteouslyand the peoples fairly.

The Lord reigns! Let the peoples tremble.He is enthroned above the cherubim.Let the earth quake.

Yahweh is great in Zion;He is exalted above all the peoples.

Exalt the Lord our God;bow in worship at His footstool.He is holy.

Moses and Aaron were among His priests;Samuel also was among those calling on His name.They called to Yahweh and He answered them.

Lord our God, You answered them.You were a forgiving God to them,an avenger of their sinful actions.

Exalt the Lord our God;bow in worship at His holy mountain,for the Lord our God is holy.

A psalm of thanksgiving.Shout triumphantly to the Lord, all the earth.

Serve the Lord with gladness;come before Him with joyful songs.

Acknowledge that Yahweh is God.He made us, and we are His —His people, the sheep of His pasture.

For Yahweh is good, and His love is eternal;His faithfulness endures through all generations.

A Davidic psalm.I will sing of faithful love and justice;I will sing praise to You, Lord.

A prayer of an afflicted person who is weak and pours out his lament before the Lord.Lord, hear my prayer;let my cry for help come before You.

Then the nations will fear the name of Yahweh,and all the kings of the earth Your glory,

This will be written for a later generation,and a newly created people will praise the Lord:

so that they might declarethe name of Yahweh in Zionand His praise in Jerusalem,

when peoples and kingdoms are assembledto serve the Lord.

Davidic.My soul, praise Yahweh,and all that is within me, praise His holy name.

My soul, praise the Lord,and do not forget all His benefits.

The Lord executes acts of righteousnessand justice for all the oppressed.

The Lord is compassionate and gracious,slow to anger and rich in faithful love.

As a father has compassion on his children,so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.

The Lord has established His throne in heaven,and His kingdom rules over all.

Praise the Lord,all His angels of great strength,who do His word,obedient to His command.

Praise the Lord, all His armies,His servants who do His will.

Praise the Lord, all His worksin all the places where He rules.My soul, praise Yahweh!

My soul, praise Yahweh!Lord my God, You are very great;You are clothed with majesty and splendor.

The trees of the Lord flourish,the cedars of Lebanon that He planted.

How countless are Your works, Lord!In wisdom You have made them all;the earth is full of Your creatures.

May the glory of the Lord endure forever;may the Lord rejoice in His works.

He will not fear bad news;his heart is confident, trusting in the Lord.

Yahweh is exalted above all the nations,His glory above the heavens.

Who is like Yahweh our God—the One enthroned on high,

Tremble, earth, at the presence of the Lord,at the presence of the God of Jacob,

Not to us, Yahweh, not to us,but to Your name give glorybecause of Your faithful love, because of Your truth.

Israel, trust in the Lord!He is their help and shield.

House of Aaron, trust in the Lord!He is their help and shield.

You who fear the Lord, trust in the Lord!He is their help and shield.

The Lord remembers us and will bless us.He will bless the house of Israel;He will bless the house of Aaron;

He will bless those who fear the Lord—small and great alike.

May the Lord add to your numbers,both yours and your children’s.

May you be blessed by the Lord,the Maker of heaven and earth.

It is not the dead who praise the Lord,nor any of those descending into the silence of death.

But we will praise the Lord,both now and forever.Hallelujah!
