'Lord' in the Bible

Come, children, listen to me;I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,and His ears are open to their cry for help.

The face of the Lord is setagainst those who do what is evil,to erase all memory of them from the earth.

The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears,and delivers them from all their troubles.

The Lord is near the brokenhearted;He saves those crushed in spirit.

Many adversities come to the one who is righteous,but the Lord delivers him from them all.

The Lord redeems the life of His servants,and all who take refuge in Him will not be punished.

Davidic.Oppose my opponents, Lord;fight those who fight me.

Let them be like chaff in the wind,with the angel of the Lord driving them away.

Let their way be dark and slippery,with the angel of the Lord pursuing them.

Then I will rejoice in the Lord;I will delight in His deliverance.

My very bones will say,“Lord, who is like You,rescuing the poor from one too strong for him,the poor or the needy from one who robs him?”

Lord, how long will You look on?Rescue my life from their ravages,my only one from the young lions.

You saw it, Lord; do not be silent.Lord, do not be far from me.

Wake up and rise to my defense,to my cause, my God and my Lord!

Vindicate me, Lord my God,in keeping with Your righteousness,and do not let them rejoice over me.

Let those who want my vindicationshout for joy and be glad;let them continually say,“The Lord be exalted.He takes pleasure in His servant’s well-being.”

Lord, Your faithful love reaches to heaven,Your faithfulness to the clouds.

Your righteousness is like the highest mountains;Your judgments, like the deepest sea.Lord, You preserve man and beast.

Trust in the Lord and do what is good;dwell in the land and live securely.

Take delight in the Lord,and He will give you your heart’s desires.

Commit your way to the Lord;trust in Him, and He will act,

Be silent before the Lord and wait expectantly for Him;do not be agitated by one who prospers in his way,by the man who carries out evil plans.

For evildoers will be destroyed,but those who put their hope in the Lordwill inherit the land.

The Lord laughs at himbecause He sees that his day is coming.

For the arms of the wicked will be broken,but the Lord supports the righteous.

The Lord watches over the blameless all their days,and their inheritance will last forever.

A man’s steps are established by the Lord,and He takes pleasure in his way.

Though he falls, he will not be overwhelmed,because the Lord holds his hand.

For the Lord loves justiceand will not abandon His faithful ones.They are kept safe forever,but the children of the wicked will be destroyed.

the Lord will not leave himin the power of the wicked oneor allow him to be condemned when he is judged.

Wait for the Lord and keep His way,and He will exalt you to inherit the land.You will watch when the wicked are destroyed.

The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord,their refuge in a time of distress.

The Lord helps and delivers them;He will deliver them from the wicked and will save thembecause they take refuge in Him.

A Davidic psalm for remembrance.Lord, do not punish me in Your angeror discipline me in Your wrath.

Lord, my every desire is known to You;my sighing is not hidden from You.

I put my hope in You, Lord;You will answer, Lord my God.

Lord, do not abandon me;my God, do not be far from me.

Hurry to help me,Lord, my Savior.

“Lord, reveal to me the end of my lifeand the number of my days.Let me know how short-lived I am.

Lord my God, You have done many things—Your wonderful works and Your plans for us;none can compare with You.If I were to report and speak of them,they are more than can be told.

I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly;see, I do not keep my mouth closed—as You know, Lord.

Lord, do not withhold Your compassion from me;Your constant love and truth will always guard me.

Lord, be pleased to deliver me;hurry to help me, Lord.

Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You;let those who love Your salvation continually say,“The Lord is great!”

I am afflicted and needy;the Lord thinks of me.You are my helper and my deliverer;my God, do not delay.

The Lord will keep him and preserve him;he will be blessed in the land.You will not give him over to the desire of his enemies.

I said, “Lord, be gracious to me;heal me, for I have sinned against You.”

But You, Lord, be gracious to me and raise me up;then I will repay them.

May Yahweh, the God of Israel, be praisedfrom everlasting to everlasting.Amen and amen.

God, knock the teeth out of their mouths;Lord, tear out the young lions’ fangs.

Lord, look! They set an ambush for me.Powerful men attack me,but not because of any sin or rebellion of mine.

Lord God of Hosts, You are the God of Israel,rise up to punish all the nations;do not show grace to any wicked traitors.Selah

But You laugh at them, Lord;You ridicule all the nations.

Do not kill them; otherwise, my people will forget.By Your power, make them homeless wanderersand bring them down,Lord, our shield.

and faithful love belongs to You, Lord.For You repay each according to his works.

The righteous one rejoices in the Lordand takes refuge in Him;all those who are upright in heartwill offer praise.

If I had been aware of malice in my heart,the Lord would not have listened.

The Lord gave the command;a great company of women brought the good news:

Why gaze with envy, you mountain peaks,at the mountain God desired for His dwelling?The Lord will live there forever!

God’s chariots are tens of thousands,thousands and thousands;the Lord is among them in the sanctuaryas He was at Sinai.

You ascended to the heights, taking away captives;You received gifts from people,even from the rebellious,so that the Lord God might live there.

May the Lord be praised!Day after day He bears our burdens;God is our salvation.Selah

Our God is a God of salvation,and escape from death belongs to the Lord God.

The Lord said, “I will bring them back from Bashan;I will bring them back from the depths of the sea

Praise God in the assemblies;praise the Lord from the fountain of Israel.

Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth;sing praise to the Lord,Selah

Do not let those who put their hope in Yoube disgraced because of me,Lord God of Hosts;do not let those who seek Yoube humiliated because of me,God of Israel.

But as for me, Lord,my prayer to You is for a time of favor.In Your abundant, faithful love, God,answer me with Your sure salvation.

Answer me, Lord,for Your faithful love is good;in keeping with Your great compassion,turn to me.

That will please Yahweh more than an ox,more than a bull with horns and hooves.

For the Lord listens to the needyand does not despiseHis own who are prisoners.
