'Spoken' in the Bible

This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: “Write down on a scroll all the words that I have spoken to you,

Look! Siege ramps have come against the city to capture it, and the city, as a result of the sword, famine, and plague, has been handed over to the Chaldeans who are fighting against it. What You have spoken has happened. Look, You can see it!

“Look, the days are coming”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“when I will fulfill the good promisesthat I have spokenconcerning the house of Israeland the house of Judah.

you will die peacefully. There will be a burning ceremony for you just like the burning ceremonies for your fathers, the former kings who preceded you. ‘Our king is dead!’ will be the lament for you, for I have spoken this word.” This is the Lord’s declaration.

“The words of Jonadab, son of Rechab, have been carried out. He commanded his sons not to drink wine, and they have not drunk to this very day because they have obeyed their ancestor’s command. But I have spoken to you time and time again, and you have not obeyed Me!

Therefore, this is what the Lord, the God of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: I will certainly bring to Judah and to all the residents of Jerusalem all the disaster I have pronounced against them because I have spoken to them, but they have not obeyed, and I have called to them, but they would not answer.”

“Take a scroll, and write on it all the words I have spoken to you concerning Israel, Judah, and all the nations from the time I first spoke to you during Josiah’s reign until today.

So Jeremiah summoned Baruch son of Neriah. At Jeremiah’s dictation, Baruch wrote on a scroll all the words the Lord had spoken to Jeremiah.

If the officials hear that I have spoken with you and come and demand of you, ‘Tell us what you said to the king; don’t hide anything from us and we won’t kill you. Also, what did the king say to you?’

The Lord has spoken concerning you, remnant of Judah: ‘Don’t go to Egypt.’ Know for certain that I have warned you today!

This is what the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘As for you and your wives, you women have spoken with your mouths, and you men fulfilled it by your deeds, saying, “We will keep our vows that we have made to burn incense to the queen of heaven and to pour out drink offerings for her.” Go ahead, confirm your vows! When My anger is spent and I have vented My wrath on them, I will be appeased. Then after I have spent My wrath on them, they will know that I, Yahweh, have spoken in My jealousy.

So you will be a disgrace and a taunt, a warning and a horror, to the nations around you when I execute judgments against you in anger, wrath, and furious rebukes. I, Yahweh, have spoken.

I will send famine and dangerous animals against you. They will leave you childless, Jerusalem. Plague and bloodshed will sweep through you, and I will bring a sword against you. I, Yahweh, have spoken.”

Didn’t you see a false vision and speak a lying divination when you proclaimed, ‘This is the Lord’s declaration,’ even though I had not spoken?

“Therefore, this is what the Lord God says: I am against you because you have spoken falsely and had lying visions.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.

All the fugitives among his troops will fall by the sword, and those who survive will be scattered to every direction of the wind. Then you will know that I, Yahweh, have spoken.”

Then all the trees of the field will knowthat I am Yahweh.I bring down the tall tree,and make the low tree tall.I cause the green tree to witherand make the withered tree thrive.I, Yahweh, have spokenand I will do it.

I also will clap My hands together,and I will satisfy My wrath.I, Yahweh, have spoken.”

You will be fuel for the fire.Your blood will be spilled in the land.You will not be remembered,for I, Yahweh, have spoken.”

Will your courage endure or your hands be strong in the days when I deal with you? I, Yahweh, have spoken, and I will act.

Her prophets plaster with whitewash for them by seeing false visions and lying divinations, and they say, ‘This is what the Lord God says,’ when the Lord has not spoken.

She will become a place in the sea to spread nets, for I have spoken.” This is the declaration of the Lord God. “She will become plunder for the nations,

I will turn you into a bare rock, and you will be a place to spread nets. You will never be rebuilt, for I, Yahweh, have spoken.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.

I will make the streams dryand sell the land into the hands of evil men.I will bring desolationon the land and everything in itby the hands of foreigners.I, Yahweh, have spoken.

I, Yahweh, will be their God, and My servant David will be a prince among them. I, Yahweh, have spoken.

Then the nations that remain around you will know that I, Yahweh, have rebuilt what was destroyed and have replanted what was desolate. I, Yahweh, have spoken and I will do it.

I will put My Spirit in you, and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I am Yahweh. I have spoken, and I will do it.” This is the declaration of the Lord.

You will fall on the open field, for I have spoken.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.

Yes, it is coming, and it will happen.” This is the declaration of the Lord God. “This is the day I have spoken about.

I will sell your sons and daughters into the hands of the people of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans, to a distant nation, for the Lord has spoken.

I will break down the gates of Damascus.I will cut off the ruler from the Valley of Aven,and the one who wields the scepter from Beth-eden.The people of Aram will be exiled to Kir.The Lord has spoken.

I will cut off the ruler from Ashdod,and the one who wields the scepter from Ashkelon.I will also turn My hand against Ekron,and the remainder of the Philistines will perish.The Lord God has spoken.

Their king and his princeswill go into exile together.The Lord has spoken.

I will cut off the judge from the landand kill all its officials with him.The Lord has spoken.

Listen to this message that the Lord has spoken against you, Israelites, against the entire clan that I brought from the land of Egypt:

A lion has roared;who will not fear?The Lord God has spoken;who will not prophesy?

There will be wailing in all the vineyards,for I will pass among you.The Lord has spoken.

So I will send you into exile beyond Damascus.” Yahweh, the God of Hosts, is His name. He has spoken.

I will plant them on their land,and they will never again be uprootedfrom the land I have given them.Yahweh your God has spoken.

Then the house of Jacob will be a blazing fire,and the house of Joseph, a burning flame,but the house of Esau will be stubble;Jacob will set them on fire and consume Edom.Therefore no survivor will remainof the house of Esau,for the Lord has spoken.

At that time I will bring you back,yes, at the time I will gather you.I will give you fame and praiseamong all the peoples of the earth,when I restore your fortunes before your eyes.Yahweh has spoken.

If a man still prophesies, his father and his mother who bore him will say to him: You cannot remain alive because you have spoken falsely in the name of Yahweh. When he prophesies, his father and his mother who bore him will pierce him through.

“Your words against Me are harsh,” says the Lord.Yet you ask: “What have we spoken against You?”

Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet:

He stayed there until Herod’s death, so that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet might be fulfilled: Out of Egypt I called My Son.

Then what was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled:

Then he went and settled in a town called Nazareth to fulfill what was spoken through the prophets, that He will be called a Nazarene.

For he is the one spoken of through the prophet Isaiah, who said:A voice of one crying out in the wilderness:Prepare the way for the Lord;make His paths straight!

This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:

so that what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:He Himself took our weaknessesand carried our diseases.

Now concerning the resurrection of the dead, haven’t you read what was spoken to you by God:

and Peter remembered the words Jesus had spoken, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly.

Remember your leaders who have spoken God’s word to you. As you carefully observe the outcome of their lives, imitate their faith.

so that you can remember the words previously spoken by the holy prophets and the command of our Lord and Savior given through your apostles.
