Of the children of Gad, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

These are the families of the children of Gad according to those that were numbered of them, forty thousand and five hundred.

The children of Gad and the children of Reuben came and spake unto Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and unto the princes of the congregation, saying,

And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben answered, saying, As the LORD hath said unto thy servants, so will we do.
And Moses gave unto them, even to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, and unto half the tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land, with the cities thereof in the coasts, even the cities of the country round about.
And the children of Gad built Dibon, and Ataroth, and Aroer,
They journeyed from Iyim and camped at Dibon-gad.
They journeyed from Dibon-gad and camped at Almon-diblathaim.
For the tribe of the children of Reuben according to the house of their fathers, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to the house of their fathers, have received their inheritance; and half the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance:

Joshua told the descendants of Reuben, the descendants of Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh,

The other half of Manasseh, Reuben, and Gad received their allotted tribal lands beyond the Jordan, just as Moses, the Lord's servant, had assigned them.
And Moses gave inheritance unto the tribe of Gad, even unto the children of Gad according to their families.
This is the inheritance of the children of Gad after their families, the cities, and their villages.

Beyond the Jordan east of Jericho they selected Bezer in the desert on the plain belonging to the tribe of Reuben, Ramoth in Gilead belonging to the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan belonging to the tribe of Manasseh.
And to the sons of Kohath, those remaining from the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and from the tribe of Gad, and from half the tribe of Manasseh, by lot, ten cities.

And Gad came to David, and told him, and said to him, Shall seven years of famine come to thee in thy land? or wilt thou flee three months before thine adversaries while they pursue thee? or shall there be three days' pestilence in thy land? Now be aware and consider what word I shall bring again to him that sent me.
And David said to Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall, I pray thee, into the hand of Jehovah; for his mercies are great; but let me not fall into the hand of man.
And Gad came that day to David, and said to him, Go up, rear an altar to Jehovah in the threshing-floor of Araunah the Jebusite.
And David, according to the saying of Gad, went up as Jehovah had commanded.
He conquered all the land of Gilead, including the territory of Gad, Reuben, and Manasseh, extending all the way from the Aroer in the Arnon Valley through Gilead to Bashan.
Dan, Joseph, and Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher,

And David went up at the saying of Gad, which he had spoken in the name of Jehovah.
King David appointed Jerijah, his relatives, and 2,700 competent men who were each family heads, to oversee the tribes of Reuben and Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh regarding everything pertaining to God as well as matters relating to the king.
Now, the acts of David the king, first and last, behold them! written in the records of Samuel the seer, and in the records of Nathan the prophet, and in the records of Gad the seer:

The Lord spoke about the Ammonites. "Do you think there are not any people of the nation of Israel remaining? Do you think there are not any of them remaining to reinherit their land? Our little ones, our wives, our possessions, and all our cattle, shall be there in the cities of Gilead: And thy servants will pass over, all being armed, to war before Jehovah for battle, as my lord spake. And Moses will command Eleazar the priest, concerning them, and Joshua, the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel: And Moses will say to them, If the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben will pass over Jordan with you, all being armed for battle before Jehovah, and the land be subdued before you; and give ye to them the land of Gilead for a possession. And if they will not pass over armed with you, and they possessed in the midst of you in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben will answer, saying, What Jehovah spake to thy servants, so will we do. We will pass over armed before Jehovah to the land of Canaan, and to us shall be the possession of our inheritance from the other side to Jordan.
And now Jehovah your God caused your brethren to rest as he spake to them: and now turn ye and go for yourselves to your tents to the land of your possession which Moses the servant of Jehovah gave to you beyond Jordan. Only watch greatly to do the command and the law which Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded you, to love Jehovah your God and to go in all his ways, and to watch his commands, and to cleave to him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul. And Joshua will bless them and will send them away; and they will go to their tents. And to half the tribe of Manasseh, Moses gave in Bashan: and to its half Joshua gave with their brethren from beyond Jordan to the sea. And also when Joshua sent them away to their tents he will bless them, And he will say to them, saying, With much riches turn back to your tents, and with exceeding many cattle, with silver and with gold and with brass and with iron and with exceeding many garments: divide the spoil of your enemies with your brethren.
