1 In thee, O Jehovah, I put my trust; shall not be ashamed forever.
1 In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.
1 In you, LORD, I take refuge; let me never be humiliated.
2 In thy justice thou wilt deliver me, and let me escape: incline to me thine ear and save me.
2 Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me.
2 Rescue and deliver me, because you are righteous. Turn your ear to me and save me.
3 Be thou to me for a rock of refuge to come always: thou didst command to save me, for thou my rock and my fortress.
3 Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.
3 Be my sheltering refuge where I may go continuously; command my deliverance for you are my rock and fortress.
4 My God, deliver me from the hand of the unjust one, from the hand of him transgressing, and the violent one.
4 Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.
4 My God, deliver me from the power of the wicked and the grasp of ruthless practicers of evil.
5 For thou my hope, O Lord Jehovah: my trust from my youth.
5 For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth.
5 For you are my hope, Lord GOD, my security since I was young.
6 Upon thee was I supported from the womb: from the bowels of my mother thou didst separate me: in thee my praise always.
6 By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.
6 I depended on you since birth, when you brought me from my mother's womb; I praise you continuously.
7 I was as a wonder to many: and thou my refuge of strength.
7 I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.
7 I have become an example to many that you are my strong refuge.
8 My mouth shall be filled with thy praise, thy magnificence all the day.
8 Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.
8 My mouth is filled with your praise and your splendor daily.
9 Thou wilt not cast me off to the time of old age; as my strength fails thou wilt not forsake me.
9 Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.
9 Don't throw me away when I am old; do not abandon me when my strength fails.
10 For mine enemies said to me, and they watching my soul took counsel together,
10 For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together,
10 For my enemies talk against me; those who seek to kill me plot together
11 Saying, God forsook him: pursue him and take him, for none delivering.
11 Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him.
11 and say, "God has abandoned him. Run after him and seize him, because there's no deliverer."
12 O God, thou wilt not be far off from me: my God, hasten for my help.
12 O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help.
12 God, do not be distant from me. My God, come quickly to help me.
13 They lying in wait for my soul shall be ashamed; they shall be finished; they seeking my evil shall be covered with reproach and shame.
13 Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt.
13 Let my adversaries be ashamed and consumed; let those who seek my destruction be covered with scorn and disgrace.
14 And I will always hope, and I added upon all thy praise.
14 But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.
14 As for me, I will hope continuously and will praise you more and more.
15 My mouth shall recount thy justice, all the day thy salvation, for I knew not numbers.
15 My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof.
15 I will declare your righteousness and your salvation every day, though I do not fully understand what the outcome will be.
16 I will go in the strength of the Lord Jehovah: I will keep in remembrance thy justice, thine alone.
16 I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.
16 Lord GOD, I will come in the power of your mighty acts, remembering your righteousness yours alone.
17 O God, thou didst teach me from my youth: and even to this will I announce thy wonders.
17 O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works.
17 God, you taught me from my youth, so I am still declaring your awesome deeds.
18 And also even to old age and grayness, O God, thou wilt not forsake me; till I shall announce thine arm to the generation, thy strength to every one who shall come:
18 Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.
18 Also, when I reach old age and have gray hair, God, do not forsake me, until I have declared your power to this generation and your might to the next one.
19 And thy justice, O God, even to height, who didst great things: O God, who like thee?
19 Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee!
19 Your many righteous deeds, God, are great,
20 Who didst cause us to see great straits and evils; thou wilt turn back, thou wilt preserve us alive, and from the depths of the earth thou wilt turn back, thou wilt bring us up.
20 Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
20 God, who can compare to you, who caused me to experience troubles that were numerous and disastrous? You will return to revive me and lift me up from the depths of the earth.
21 Thou wilt increase my greatness, thou wilt surround me, thou wilt comfort me.
21 Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.
21 You will increase my honor and comfort me once again.
22 Also I will praise thee with the instrument of the harp; thy truth, O God, I will play on the harp, to thee, O Thou, Holy One of Israel.
22 I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.
22 I also will praise you with the harp; because of your faithfulness, my God, I will praise you with the lyre Holy One of Israel.
23 My lips shall rejoice when I shall play on the harp to thee, and my soul which thou redeemedst.
23 My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.
23 My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you, whose life you have redeemed.
24 Also my tongue all the day shall celebrate thy justice; for they were confused, for they seeking my evil were ashamed.
24 My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt.
24 Moreover, my tongue will speak all day about your justice; for those who seek my destruction will be utterly humiliated. Solomonic
