"Think not that I came to destroy the law, or the prophets; I came not to destroy, but to fulfill.
"Ye are the salt of the earth; but, if the salt become tasteless, with what shall it be salted? It is henceforth good for nothing, except, when cast without, to be trodden under foot by men.
So let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father Who is in Heaven.
And, seeing the multitudes, He went up into the mountain; and, He having sat down, His disciples came to Him:
"Ye heard that it was said to the ancients, 'You shall not kill; and whosoever kills shall be in danger of the judgment.'

If, therefore, you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has ought against you,
"Happy are those who have been persecuted for righteousness' sake; because theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
"And it was said, 'Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement;'
"Happy are ye, when they shall reproach you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for My sake.
but I say to you, that every one who puts away his wife, except on account of fornication, makes her commit adultery: and whosoever marries her when put away commits adultery.
but I say to you, Resist not the evil man; but whosoever smites you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also;
For I say to you that, unless your righteousness shall exceed that of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no wise enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
Whosoever, therefore, shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven; but whosoever shall do and teach them, shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.
"And, if your right eye is causing you to stumble, pluck it out, and cast it from you; for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not your whole body be cast into Hell.
"Again ye heard that it was said to the ancients, You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform to the Lord your oaths;"
that ye may be sons of your Father Who is in Heaven; because He causeth His sun to rise on evil men and on good, and sendeth rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous.
Nor do they light a lamp, and put it under the measure, but on the lamp-stand; and it gives light to all who are in the house.
leave there your gift before the altar, and go your way, first be reconciled to your brother, and then, coming, offer your gift.

and to him who is desirous that you should be sued at the law, and to take your coat, grant your cloak also;
Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are with him in the way; lest perhaps the adversary deliver you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be cast into prison.
nor by the earth, because it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, because it is the Great King's city;
And, if ye salute your brethren only, what more than others do ye? Do not even the gentiles the same?
