This word is used in Scripture occasionally in the Elizabethan and primary sense of 'well-being' (e.g. 1Sa 2:32; Es 10:3 etc.), but generally in the more usual sense of affluent possessions (e.g. Ge 34:29; De 8:17-18; Ac 19:25 etc.).
1. Palestine is described in De 8:7-8 as rich not only in cereal but also in mineral wealth; but this may be a description more poetic than literal. It is, however, frequently spoken of as 'flowing with milk and honey' (Ex 3:8, etc. etc.)

Command the rich in the present age not to be arrogant, nor hope in the uncertainty of wealth, but in the living God, who supplies us all things abundantly for enjoyment, to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, willing to share, read more. storing up for themselves a good foundation for that which is coming, so that they may take hold of the eternal life.
My brothers, ye should not have the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ of glory, in favoritism. Because thou say, I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing, and do not know that thou are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked.
