and the fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley, shall be as the first-ripe fig before the summer; which when he that looketh upon it seeth, while it is yet in his hand he eateth it up.

And gleanings will be left over in it, as {when an olive tree is beaten}, two [or] three ripe olive berries in [the] top of a branch, four [or] five on its fruitful branches," {declares} Yahweh, the God of Israel.

For before the harvest, when the branch is grown, there shall come ripe fruit out of the flower: and he shall cut down the increase with the scythes, and the branches shall he take away with hooks.

Who hath wrought and done, Calling the generations from the first? I, Jehovah, the first, and with the last I am He.

Because [the] coastlands wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish [are] first to bring your children from afar, their silver and gold with them, for the name of Yahweh your God, and for the holy one of Israel, because he has glorified you.

and I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning. Afterwards thou shalt be called, Town of righteousness, Faithful city.

First to Zion, look! Look at them! And I give a herald of good tidings to Jerusalem.

Your first ancestor sinned, and your {representatives} transgressed against me.

Thus says Yahweh, the king of Israel, and its redeemer, Yahweh of hosts: "I [am the] first, and I [am the] last, and there is no god besides me.

"Listen to me, Jacob, and Israel, {whom I called}: I [am] he. I [am the] first; also I [am the] last.
