Jesus said to him, If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in Heaven. And come, follow Me.

But Jesus answered and said, You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They said to Him, We are able.
But Jesus called them and said, You know that the rulers of the nations exercise dominion over them, and they who are great exercise authority over them.
And behold, two blind men were sitting by the wayside. When they heard that Jesus passed by, they cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!
And Jesus stood still and called them, and said, What do you desire that I should do to you?
So Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. And immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him.
And when they drew near Jerusalem, and had come to Bethphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,
And the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them.
And the crowd said, This is Jesus the prophet, from Nazareth of Galilee.
And Jesus went into the temple of God and cast out all those who sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money-changers, and the seats of those who sold doves.
And they said to Him, Do you hear what these say? And Jesus said to them, Yes, have you never read, "Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings You have perfected praise?"
Jesus answered and said to them, Truly I say to you, If you have faith and do not doubt, you shall not only do this miracle of the fig tree, but also; if you shall say to this mountain, Be moved and be thrown into the sea; it shall be done.
And Jesus answered and said to them, I will also ask you one thing; which if you tell Me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things.
And they answered Jesus and said, We cannot tell. And He said to them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
Which of the two did the will of his father? They said to Him, The first. Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you that the tax-collectors and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.
Jesus said to them, Did you never read in the Scriptures, "The stone which the builders rejected, this One has become the head of the corner; this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?"
And Jesus answered and spoke to them again by parables, and said,
But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why do you tempt Me, hypocrites?
Jesus answered and said to them, You err, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.
Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
While the Pharisees were gathered, Jesus asked them,
Then Jesus spoke to the crowd and to His disciples,
And Jesus went out and departed from the temple. And His disciples came to Him to show Him the buildings of the temple.
And Jesus said to them, Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, There shall not be left here one stone on another that shall not be thrown down.
And Jesus answered and said to them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
And it happened when Jesus finished all these sayings, He said to His disciples,
And they consulted so that they might take Jesus by guile and kill Him.
When Jesus understood it, He said to them, Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a good work on Me.
And on the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus, saying to Him, Where do You desire that we prepare for You to eat the Passover?
And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them. And they made the passover ready.
And as they were eating, Jesus took bread and blessed it, and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat, this is My body.
Then Jesus said to them, All of you will be offended because of Me this night. For it is written, "I will smite the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad."
Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you that this night, before the cock crows, you shall deny Me three times.
Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane. And He said to the disciples, Sit here while I go and pray there.
And coming up to Jesus immediately, he said, Hail, Master! And he kissed Him.
And Jesus said to him, Friend, why are you here? Then they came and laid hands on Jesus and took Him.
And, behold, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, and he struck a servant of the high priest and cut off his ear.
Then Jesus said to him, Put up your sword again into its place; for all who take the sword shall perish with a sword.
In that hour Jesus said to the crowds, Have you come out in order to take Me with swords and clubs, as against a thief? I sat daily with you, teaching in the temple, and you did not lay hands on Me.
And they who had seized Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders had assembled.
And the chief priests and the elders and all the sanhedrin sought false witness against Jesus, in order to put Him to death.
But Jesus was silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, I adjure you by the living God that you tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God.
Jesus said to him, You said it. I tell you more. From this time you shall see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming on the clouds of the heavens.
And Peter sat outside in the court. And a girl came to him, saying, You also were with Jesus of Galilee.
And when he had gone out into the porch, another saw him and said to those there, This one was also with Jesus of Nazareth.
And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, Who said to him, Before the cock crows, you shall deny Me three times. And he went out and wept bitterly.
And it becoming early morning, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put Him to death.
And Jesus stood before the governor. And the governor asked Him, saying, Are you the king of the Jews? And Jesus said to him, You say it.
Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said to them, Whom do you desire that I release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?
But the chief priests and elders persuaded the crowd that they should ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus.
Pilate said to them, What then shall I do with Jesus, who is called Christ? They all said to him, Let Him be crucified.
Then he released Barabbas to them. And when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.
Then taking Jesus into the praetorium, the soldiers of the governor gathered the cohort against Him.
And they put up over His head His accusation, written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
And about the ninth hour, Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? That is, My God, My God, why have You forsaken me?
And crying again with a loud voice, Jesus released His spirit.
But the centurion and those guarding Jesus, seeing the earthquake, and the things that took place, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this One was Son of God.
And many of the women were there, watching from a distance, those who had followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to Him, watching from a distance;
When the evening had come, a rich man of Arimathea, named Joseph, came, who also himself was Jesus' disciple.
He went to Pilate and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.
And the angel answered and said to the women, Do not fear, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.
But as they were going to report to His disciples, behold, Jesus also met them, saying, Hail! And they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.
Then Jesus said to them, Do not be afraid; go tell My brothers that they should go into Galilee, and there they will see Me.
And the eleven disciples went into Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All authority is given to Me in Heaven and in earth.
The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God:
And it happened in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
And after John was delivered up, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom of God,
And Jesus said to them, Come after Me and I will make you fishers of men.
saying, What is to us and to You, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know You, who You are, the Holy One of God.
And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be quiet, and come out of him.
And Jesus, moved with compassion, put out His hand and touched him, and said to him, I will; be clean!
But going out, he began to proclaim it very much, and to spread about the matter, so that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was outside in deserted places. And they came to Him from every quarter.
And seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, Child, your sins are forgiven to you.
And it happened as Jesus reclined in his house, many tax-collectors and sinners also reclined with Jesus and His disciples. For there were many, and they followed Him.
When Jesus heard, He said to them, They who are strong have no need of a physician, but the ones who have illness. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
And Jesus said to them, Can the sons of the bridechamber fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast.
And Jesus withdrew to the sea with His disciples. And a great crowd from Galilee followed Him, and from Judea,
And when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshiped Him,
and cried with a loud voice, and said, What is to me and to You, Jesus, son of the Most High God? I adjure You by God not to torment me.
And immediately Jesus allowed them. And the unclean spirits went out and entered into the pigs. And the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea (they were about two thousand), and were choked in the sea.
And they came to Jesus and saw him who had been demon-possessed, and had the legion, sitting and clothed and right-minded, the one who had the legion. And they were afraid.
However Jesus did not allow him, but said to him, Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and has had mercy on you.
And he departed and began to proclaim in Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all marvelled.
And Jesus having crossed again by boat to the other side, a large crowd collected on Him. And He was near the sea.
And Jesus went with him. And many people followed Him and thronged Him.
having heard about Jesus, she came in the press behind and touched His garment.
And knowing instantly within Himself that power had gone out of Him, Jesus turned Himself around in the press and said, Who touched My clothes?
But hearing the word spoken, Jesus said to the synagogue ruler, Do not be afraid, only believe.
But Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honor, except in his native-place, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
And the apostles gathered themselves to Jesus and told Him all things, both what they had done and what they had taught.
And going out Jesus saw a large crowd. And He was moved with compassion toward them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. And He began to teach them many things.
But Jesus said to her, Let the children first be filled. For it is not right to take the children's loaves and to throw it to the dogs.
In those days, the crowd being very great and having nothing to eat, Jesus called His disciples and said to them,
And knowing it, Jesus said to them, Why do you reason that it is because you have no loaves? Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Have you still hardened your heart?
